No. When you start sacrificing the very things that you should be protecting in the first place, then you no longer truly understand what it is you're fighting for.

Yes. Any sacrifice is acceptable if it means the survival of the whole. These decisions have to be made and someone has to do it.

Sacrifices are needed from time to time, but they should never outweigh the gain. It's acceptable as long as it is within reason.
