on paper, it would appear that Durant has this wrapped up. after his last two games of the season, he has an average of 28.0303ppg. Kobe, at the moment sits at 27.86ppg. while it may seem like less than a point to surpass KD's average, in reality, Kobe has to score no less than 38 points on his last game to at least average 28.0338ppg. impossible? i think not. so KD, you may want to keep your fingers crossed till the fat lady sings. Mamba, go to work...

You cannot say anything, in all of the games kobe played, he averaged less points than durant, shot at a lower percentage, and shot it so much more with less time. It shows when the Lakers took on my Jazz and kobe only shot 3-20. In these last few games, durant will take an even bigger lead and have the scoring title. The only reason lebron isn't up there is because of who he has to pass to.

i'm sure, if he never missed all those games due to his shin injury, he will gain more points that kevin durant.. it's just a matter of 170 points, and kobe missed 6 games, in which he can score double figures per game.. it can help raising his percentage..

I think Kobe will win the scoring title despite the statistics for one simple reason: Kobe is about Kobe, while Durant is about his team. Kobe will take how ever many shots is necessary to wrap up the scoring title despite the cost to his team. The stats in the article already show that Kobe takes more shots, but I would be willing to bet that his shots are well above his average for this last game.

Kobe is an incredible athlete, it's mind blowing to see a 33 year old player perform at the level he does. That he can even compete with a 23 year old of Durant's ability is awesome. But the stats don't lie, Durant has an edge for the scoring title this year. Kobe's game has changed, sure he still has a crossover that'll make a defender's eyes bleed trying to follow it, but he can't use it as often anymore, that's why he's shifted his game to the midrange jumpers (Older fans will recall MJ did the same thing, shooting 66% a game on the turn around jumper while guarded by two guys). Durant's young legs, and the fact that he's got two games against weak defenses give him a serious advantage. Durant wins the scoring title this year.

Kobe has curtailed his shooting as of late; he has focused more on getting his teammates involved and stepped up his "assassin-like" efforts at the end of the game. Kevin Durant is an exceptional shooter w/ great free-throw making ability. No one player in the game is more determined and expected to score 2 points like Kobe...No one. For Kobe to 33+ yrs old and be as competitive in any game as he is, verses a premier 23 yr old, 6'9" scoring machine like Kevin Durant, I'd bet the farm on him every time.
Ps. Imagine if Westbrook was Kobe's teammate! I'm just saying.

Kobe will win! Even though many hate on Kobe, they got to remember who has 5 championships and has been undoubtedly the best closer in NBA history! No one is EVEN CLOSE to Michael Jordan's success and fame then Kobe Bryant! So until Lebron and Durant even recieve their first ring they have to remember who they are dealing with and that they have to understand that they both still have a long ways to go to even coming close to greatness that Kobe Personifies!
