If they want to fund a stupid magazine, then clearly they do not need to increase tuition.

Magazines are a for profit enterprise. Let them swim or sink on their own. Give the funding back to the federal programs which deserve it more, such as the NFB or more health funding.

What happens when Ottawa funds magazines that hipersexualize images of women to sell products? They help create a culture/society that promotes unachiavable physical perfection making teens obsess about their body and believe they need to be hot, thin and sexy to be loved. In reality, this kind of magazine promotes low self-esteem and set young girls for failure. If we want to create a better world for our children, it's time to stop printing magazines like Summun and develop heathier publications that integrate our body, mind and spirit.

Women's health gets taxes deducted but the magazine which is very degrating to women is getting more funding, what world are we living in?

If the feds had not provided funding to this Quebec magazine, we'd all be fuming that this type of federal funding is all going to "les Ontariens".
Had this funding been spent on "Chatelaine" or "Clin d'oeil", Alexa Conradi would be lauding the fact that women's magazines receive the funding that they deserve.
This is one magazine among many others that is as deserving of federal funding as any other. Just because it may not suit your tastes does not diminish its validity!
