Yes I think they should speak out. But are they obligated, is it their resposibility to speak out. I say NO. I in no way shape, form or fashion will(technically) condone what these artists do. I myself smoked weed and such, and lived a non productive lifestyle. But if the education doesnt start and continue in the home....there is a problem. Stop pointing fingers. In a sense we all are responsible as "black people", to include Obama, Bill Cosby etc. It sickens me that we as a people cant take responsibility for the shortcomngs in our home...we blame it on rappers so on and so forth. The only time I see our so called black leaders(other than Obama) is when someone black dies under suspicious circumstances and they can put themselves in the spotlght for a period of time........S-A-D... SAD

Yes they should instead of doing the opposite. Think about it, if more of them do speak out the message will get sent just like any other foolish messages that many of them send out. A lot of young black youth follow these rapper because that what they see there own image just more popular/fame. rapping about drug, sex , and crime so they follow just the wrong image that they think is good. Where kids only thing is only a few of us can see the right from wrong when all where around 85% of bad either on t.v, streets, and maybe our own home. So you tell me, do you see how many young black youth follow you rappers? i bet you do but just blinding by the fame you ignore and forgetting the fact they see you and hear what you say. Ever thought that they follow you because they see you have money, hoes, cars so they think and do how you guys rap. so we should start of with the image of ourselves as black powerful people and help those who follow but lead them the right way.

As Entertainers the world not only kids Trayvon Martins age looks up to the rappers/singers in the industry and even if the message isn't always put in a positive way you all still inspire. Your always being heard remember that, we as fans put you where you are today if we didn't speak or vote for your music it wouldn't be played. We speak out to hear your music be played even thou there's been times when people wanted to ban rap. Not only as african americans as a nation we have to speak out and voice our rights as ONE !!!
