Who Is Your Coach Of The Year?

I know Memphis doesn't get much media attention but does everyone forget Memphis lost both returning PFs for most of the season? Darrell Arthur was lost for the whole season and ZBo for more than half of the season and Hollins still coached this team to the #4 seed in the West! Pondexter, Speights, Cunningham, and Arenas are all players picked up this season and the Griz still keep grinding. So not only should Hollins win CotY but Chris Wallace should get serious consideration for Exec of the Year for the moves he made in saving Memphis' season after the injuries the team sustained.

The Bulls are the top complete team in the NBA, in only Thibs 2nd year. forget pop',hes a great coach, but uh uh,.. Thibs all day!

Ty is probably left out cause having him as NBA coach of year would prove them wrong in their predictions, pride over principle....Tom Thibedau has a bench a mile deep not denying hes a good coach but not this years top. Popovich has been working with the same guys for like 15 years i don't think its that remarkable, obviously Ginobilli is talented and a big loss and he did well to get best in the west. However I still think Ty has achieved the most and moved forawrd a lot more this year considering last seasons end, it was his first full year and lets be honest he didnt have the kind of roster the other two did, not even close.

I agree, Corbin deserves to be in the mix. The Jazz always seem to get overlooked though, and it's irritating. But just look at what he's done. Nobody thought the Jazz would make the playoffs, and they did. The team lost their coach and their superstar last year all in two weeks. Corbin inherited what I thought was a shattered team after they lost their star. But he turned it into an amazing team. He always believed in them. There's more team unity there than I've seen in years and they're in the playoffs.

To leave him off the list is so typical, but he definitely deserves to be mentioned. No disrespect to the other guys on there, but Corbin is just as deserving if not more so than any of them you did mention.

i remember when hard work was rewarded. Wow these guys at nba.com make me wonder. Thibs is my choice for coach of the year. no mvp most of season or if you choose to look at it this way missing 2 starters for many games. Fastest to 100 by any nba coach.. the list goes on. Really guys lets be fair. The bulls have been the best team in the league because of great coaching all year.

    mention Ty

  • Ty Corbin - 12 years ago

Really, No TY CORBIN? The NBA is rigged we all know that, but seriously not to even have him in the conversation is just stupid.

  • Curtis Jazz - 12 years ago

Biggest SNUB of this COY read is definetely Ty Corbin. What an accomplishment he had this year!

Tom For Sure No DRose And Still The Top Seed, Thats Amazing Bro Im Sorry No Argument Though.....

Why no Corbin love? You guys pick jazz to be worst in the west, and a coach in his first full year as head coach takes a bunch of rookies and vets people have forgotten about and turn them into a playoff team!

Totally biased, die-hard Jazz fan. CORBIN!! Power rankings in week 1 had Jazz at 28th - Corbin brought that team with mostly the same players from last year (that finished 8 out of 25 after the D-Will trade) to land the 8th seed in the West. This isn't Scott Brooks who got it because the Thunder got Durant, Westbrook and Harden in successive years or Doc Rivers because they landed Allen and Garnett. Corbin took a young team that has 2 players remaining from the 2009-10 season and somehow melded them into what will be a perennial playoff team (again).

In my unbiased opinion, Corbin leading a team that was picked to be last in their conference should definately be consered in this topic. Not saying he deserves it, but deserves to be mentioned in this class.

How do you leave Tyrone Corbin off the list? He coached the Utah Jazz to the playoffs. A team that was picked to take last by many major publications including espn and nba.com.

  • ian mikenas - 12 years ago

Thibideau should get it again the bulls played half the season without their MVP & another quarter of the games missing several others
