After installing Ubuntu 12.04, if it is directly entering into Win 7 instead of showing GRUB, the reason is you might have selected

Select /dev/sdb in Device for boot loader installation (default)

    instead of

Select /dev/sda in Device for boot loader installation

Been using ubuntu off and on since 7 and i have to say since 10.04 i have enjoyed it. With the new unity interface i was a little hesitant at first prefering the old gnome but since this new release i have to say unity is growing on me it is overall stable, sleek, and smooth running with a glitch here and there on my Dell Inspiron 1525,Which is to be expected being the first release and all. Overall i would have to give Ubuntu 12.04 8 out of ten stars only thing lacking is a little customizing options

Yup, upgraded then backed it out back to Oneiric. All fonts were white on light gray background and all text was illegible.

Created VirtualBox VM and did a clean install of Precise there, will configure it the way I want it and then move it to my hard drive via fsarchiver.

Up until now I've kept a windows 7 partition alongside Natty. With 12.04 I've decided to part ways with windows and become a full time Pangolin user. That said, I'm having trouble with my ATI radeon card and the use of dual monitors. But I love it.

It's like having a new pc! Perfect. Using Unity-2D in my old pc. Very responsive!

Upgraded and loving it. One issue that bugs me though is how to keep the unity bar only on the left hand monitor of a dual monitor set up. Makes passing between the two monitors awkward.

Attempted to upgrade to 12.04 via distro-upgrade from 11.10, clean install and wubi. All three attempts to make 12.04 my new primary OS failed due to apparent ATI graphics driver problem (HD Radeon 3670 on Dell Studio XPS 16), where connecting a second external monitor would crash the system or at best not be recognized. Tried the latest open source drivers and ATI's proprietary fglrx 12.4 and 12.3. No luck. Hope it gets worked out sooner than later!

The only big downside is that Cisco AnyConnect no longer works after upgrading to 12.04

I'll be waiting a month for any major issues to be resolved before I try it.
Then I'll load it for a few months on test machines. It may see production use in July or August if everything goes well.

I'd like to say a big "thank you" to all the alpha and current beta testers. Way to go guys!

I installed Ubuntu 12.04, but I'm actually waiting for Elementary Luna to be released.

I could not get the Alpha Beta to work in virtual environment, but the LTS is running. So I will wait to upgrade, I do not want to bork my dual boot.

Upgraded Beta2 two week ago and found it smooth fast and solid. The reversion to Rhythmbox is welcome. I never really felt at home with Banshee. All other changes are to the good except for two minor glitches: lost the ability to print to my Canon IP4300 and cannot access Freeciv menus in Fullscreen mode, but these are not mission critical and will hopefully soon be overcome.

I switched totally ubuntu for OpenSuSE, since ubuntu doesn't deliver me the experience i need, but SuSE does..

I rather re-install. Any previous upgrade I tried failed. And it gives me the chance to do an actual full backup, and re-install fresh, thus removing all those one-time-programs and other utilities that are using CPU cycles. I was doing this with all betas too. I learned with time that keeping my data AWAY is perhaps the most important thing, at least for me. This also lets me have multiple OS installed (including Windoze), and share the data.

I kept up with the beta upgrades for a few months and got 12.04 3 days before the official release
