Should Rajon Rondo be suspended?

    Watch closely and you'll see:
    1. Rondo is correct in noting that he "tripped" (or at least had his foot entangled with the ref's foot), and
    2. Rondo is incorrect in claiming that he didn't chest bump the ref.

In slo-mo you'll clearly see Rondo raise and push his chest into the ref independent of the entangled foot.

The chest bump comes in the context of berating the ref and following him far too closely.

If this were Metta World Peace he'd get suspended for several games. But it's sweet Rajon Rando, a favorite of David Stern, so expect one game.

He may have tripped, but when he put his arms out and chest bumped him, it was clearly intentional. He should sit one game.

The only question should be "how many games?"

he cursed at the ref, followed the ref and then spread his arms and intentionally chest bumped him in anger. he knew he was guilty and thats why he didnt argue the ejection. bye bye.

I'm a Celtics fan BUT don't like to see their coach or players defend a clearly deliberate act. The REF may not always be right, but he's always the REF!

If you look at the video carefully, yes, Rondo continued to follow, but he also appears to have stepped on the right foot/ankle/pant-leg of the ref- probably causing the contact. Haven't you ever done this? It has happened to me so many times by accident while in line or at the grocery. I have done it to people too... never with intention.

Emotions do run high in professional high pay sports and that is why the rules need to be enforced as strictly as possible. Otherwise control is lost. By the way I am a Rondo fan, but he did it on purpose, no doubt in my mind.

The players should never touch the refs. Never.

    Rondo bumped the Ref.

    The Ref ejected Rondo.

Rondo should sit for a game, and reflect.

I am, by the way, from Boston.

Regardless of whether he meant to bump into him or not, he definitely was continuing to follow the ref to continue to berate him. When a call is made then a call is made and players need to know to let it go. When do refs ever change their mind?
