Okay I voted on base but I loved living off base! I just felt so isolated from people and it was like no one wanted to drive off base to visit us. I think if I had kids that were older living off base would be more fun. Like I said I loved living off base just hated the isolation!

We have never lived on post so I can't speak for it. Had a great time living off post in the economy of Italy and loved it. Felt like we were enjoying the culture as we were living right in it. I did see some keep themselves in " li'll America" on post and miss out on much the country had to offer but I know not everyone did that. Whichever is chosen, a way to enjoy the local customs and traditions can always be found if they look, and they will have fun doing it!
