For an e-book for one of my favorite authors, I like to stay in 4.99 range or under.

It would be exceptional for me if I paid more than $4.99 for an e-book by any author. Even my favorites or well known. I feel if you go beyond that you might as well by a paper book.

I try not to pay more than $3.99 for an ebook by one of my favorite Authors. I will sometimes put the book in my wish basket and try to watch for it to so on sale, unless it is time to read it because it is in a series.

Even for a best selling author, I believe that 4.99 is a good price for an e book.
For an Ebook by One of my Fav Authors, I probably would pay $6.99 or more for it.
