Move Seager or Liddi to SS and have the other at 3B. The drop defensively shouldn't kill you in the run or two that you could gain. Ackley has done good at the lead off spot, but I would put Ichiro back in that spot. Keep with Smoak, age 25 players tend to struggle.

The Mariners are doomed until they get an ownership group who cares, and the colossally failed duo of Lincoln/Armstrong are replaced. The fish stinks from the head.
In terms of 2012-- play the young players. Trade Ichiro to a contender, cut loose Figgins and Ryan, see if anyone wants Millwood and trade League. I might even dangle Smoak out there-- he just cannot hit right handed. Bring up the young pitchers after the all star break.
And for 2013, there has to be a concerted effort to find SOMEONE who can hit, and hit with power.
One last thought- Safeco Field, as is San Diego's Petco Park- is a vast ballpark. Like the Padres, at least think about bringing in the fences a bit.
