Actualy the one bloger was right, a "good cop" is like a good truck driver a good meat butcher or any other other job discription, the emphizes on good, the problem that we have is we have droped the standerders so bad that we have to many people that think they are entitlied to a certian job not if they are qulified for the position, there for you have some good cops that take their cars home that can be a blessing all around, and some as I have witnessed that abuse the privilage, and as for the cop.he is on duty 24/7/365 it comes with the terrotory, that is part of the privlidge of defending the people of this country, did you notice that I said "priviledge,"" not a right" We as a people sometimes in our selfishness we forget what our founding fathers actualy had to do and the sacrifice they went though so we would have a better life, lets stop wasteing our heritage

To Charles...What makes you so sure she wouldn't have stopped to help even if she was in her personally owned vehicle. You've got a lot to learn about the mindset of 99% of police officers. Police officers are a different breed who stop to help when something is wrong. In a marked police car it makes it easier for them to do their duty, whether on the clock or off the clock.

Waste of money If the Key Biscayne officer was not in her take home cruiser she would not have been shot. It's money the City's and County's don't have

Yes the sheriffs/ police dept should be entitled to take home patrol car regardless what state your in. It's very beneficial too all taxpayers/ citizens. The FBI and local police dept should all work together it's called camaraderie.

Everyone hates on the Police and their benefits, until they need Help. The fact is Police Officers make very little and have to deal with a awfull lot on a everyday basis. Every little perc helps.

It is a waste of tax payer money until one stops to help you.... Kinda like buying insurance policies.

I would rather live next to a po than not.
