LOL to the guy who said he would take kevin durant in his prime over kobe in his prime. you probably said the dumbest thing possible. Kobe in his prime was a mirror image to Michael Jordan in his prime. MJ even said that himself.
as for the people saying Kobe is a ball hog, yea the same kobe that leads the Lakers in assists right? the same Kobe, who if you do not count the seasons where he came off the bench, averages 6 assists per game in his career right? because dishing out 6 assists per game is called ball hogging right? people are so stupid these days.
as for who would i rather take? Kobe, beceause he has highest basketball IQ, passes the ball better than durant who averages MORE TURNOVERS than ASSISTS. WAY Better defender than Durant, makes higher degree of shots.
lakers losing this series was a result of not being organized to rotations and not being prepared on plays. now with a proper off season, this new lakers team will be a monster team.

Durant's unselfish play makes everyone on his team better. Kobe's ball hogging kept LA from being sucessful because dishing it to the bigs was the only thing that worked consistently. Durant is the better player to build a team around.
If kobe in his prime played like durant unselfish he would have 10 rings but kobe is selfish and not a good pick durant all the way he makes his teammates better unlike who thinks he can do it all ,why do u think the others on that lakers team always fade out because they know kobe will blame them not himself for losses ,they are done no more rings anymore time rebuild around younger players ,retire kobe

in the nba its all about stats. and if your looking for one player im not sure how you compare %43 against %52 i dont care how many rings you have how talented you are or if if your name is micheal jordan , you shooting percentage is your biggest factor in the game

Kevin Durant is better hands down. It all comes down to who is the better team-builder. Kobe had a little help from Shaq and Gasol in his prime to win 5 rings. Durant will be less selfish than Kobe and therefore win more often.
Kobe is still the better player, however I will pick Durant (that is if it is for a new NBA team). The reason being that Durant is a much younger player, who have, at least 6 to 8 more years of playing like he is playing now or even better (with experience). When Durant is 33, will he be playing like how Kobe is playing now. I DOUBT.
If the team is just to play one game, then no doubt about it I will pick Kobe Bryant. He is still the most elite and feared player in the game today. I still think that we will see at least 3 more seasons of him like how he is playing now.
How dear you compare Durant with Kobe. Durant has not and I doubt he will reach the level of Magic, Wilt, Kobe or Jordan.

the way KOBE playing now , he is becoming selfish and non-team-up player, who does not care anymore as long as he standout in the game. I think it's about time that someone needs to tell him , his time is done. He is no longer young , he needs to retire , let somebody shine and replace him.
