The attempt by the Morning Call and this reporter to link these two issues is absurd. The Gaming legislation was intacted by bipartisan legislation. Both counties, the cities of Easton, Bethlehem and Allentown all get a cut. Northampton County Council established a gaming authority to award competitive grants through an open application process. After the application is submitted and reviewed it is discussed openly in public meetings. Nothing is left to back room deals, insider knowledge and private developers/enterprises gain any benefit.

How much money does the City of Allentown get from state and federal funding that the surrounding municipalities don't receive? Millions and millions. Just put City of Allentown funding in google, Firefox or any search engine and the answer is available.

Don't try to sway public opinion with bogus analogies and biases. The Gaming Act is Constitutional and bipartisanly enacted. Numerous legal authorities have weighed in concerning the NIZ legislation and all have issued the opinion that it is unconstitutional.

Let's start investigating the money trail. How did Mr. Reilly know to buy properties in the NIZ? Who tipped him off? Slick Eddie or the now defiant Senator.

There is nothing in common between the gaming funds and the NIZ. Stop trying!!!!!
