I'm so mad at the law for not investigating the matter seriously; like they do all the other crimes that are committed in the U.S. I read a comment earlier that said prosecutors are like pitbulls coming after some meat, and haven't ate in days! I also know what the law can do to someone first hand; I spent time in jail for a crime I didn't commit! I'll make it short; A crack-head tried to rob my mom by knocking on her door at the apartment complex; he lived at the apartments also. He asked my mom for a cigarette and she said "no", so he tried to steal her purse. She called the cops and this guy was in his apartment and wouldn't answer the door, so they left. I get home and beat on his door and told him through the door; "if you harass my mom again I'm going to beat the crap out of you!" He didn't answer, so I left it at that. Three days later the police come over and said that they tried to come over the other night, and I said "why?", and they said, because you have a [FELONY] warrant for your arrest for "home-invasion" and took me to jail! By the way, it was first degree because the guy told them that I came into his house and punched him in the face! I told the police that my mom just called you guys three days ago and they said we remember, and I said ok then what is going on here, and they said; this is famous; "WE DON"T KNOW!"...but you have to come with us and they never dropped the charges; I had to spend a year of my life in JAIL, because of horrible police work and just not giving a shit! NO-one cared what happened to me except my family, and know one would listen; even though we had proof that we just called the police on him the same day, and it was the same police officers who were there before!

Additionally, Banks should sue his lawyer for leading him to plea to a crime he did not commit, rather than fighting the case - which the lawyer is supposed to do. Also, if the man wasn't actually guilty, why convince him to plea (or essentially LIE) to the court, for a lighter sentence. Justice is about the search for the truth, right? How can it be served with a lie?
Finally, Banks should sue the state, because if the prosecutors had done their JOB and investigated the crime, rather than pushing for a plea, evidence may have led to the case being dropped when originally brought to trial.
Important fact: 90% of ALL criminal cases in this country end in plea bargains. Think about that for a second. That means the law has nothing to do with what's right, or finding out the truth. It's just about the prosecutors being able to chalk about another win.
