In a typical week, how often are you serving brown rice instead of white rice?

Besides food habits, do the Obama's limit cell phone use during dinner? We do, and it helps us to focus on the conversation.

I'd like to do brown rice more often, but white rice cooks up so much faster that I almost always go with that instead. I suppose I could use quick rice but I don't care for the texture.

We have no refined sugars or flours in our house at all. @Shanti: I do a mix of about 3/4 brown rice & 1/4 quinoa in my rice cooker. My family doesn't love quinoa but in the rice they aren't bothered by its texture.

We eat quinoa instead of rice. Compare quinoa's nutritional benefits to rice and you, too, may be a convert.
Regarding milk products, we choose dairy products without Bovine Growth Hormones. I'd like to see the First Lady promoting non-rBgh dairy. Not consuming these hormones is much healthier than eliminating fat in milk.
