If you're an Illinois smoker, how will you handle the $1 tax increase?

Great, every time the government needs more money let's punish smokers. Why not tax sodas because it can cause obesity which is a huge problem in America? if all of us smokers do not buy cigarettes for an entire week in Illinois we can put a negative dent in your taxes income. Go ahead and sign Pat Quinn.

i'm an x smoker and i never considered quiting over the price but because i finally got tired of it. anyone that is close to another state where they are cheaper will go to that state and buy cigerattes. out of all of this i don't remember anyone that is in office say anything about them taking a pay cut or changing there ins. or any of the bennifits that they recieve. it seems to me that that is the way that the whole country thinks. let the citizens of this country fix and pay for all the crookedness buy our members of our goverments stae and federal. i believe that the members of our goverments should get the same retirement that we all get and the same type of ins. that we all get after we retire. i would love to bring home my same pay after i retire that i made while i was working, and get the same type of ins that our members of the goverment get. but since i'm not i have to pay for ins. for me and my wife. plus pay extra taxes to make up for all the mistakes that our goverments have made.

You know this is getting out of hand. I agree that there should be a major tax increase on alcohol. It's just another way that the government is trying to control us.

    Great Idea!

Now let's stop alcoholism, and drinking and driving, by adding a $5.00 tax to all alcohol !
With that logic, we could decrease fatalities by alcohol.
Also charge $5.00 tax on all "bath salts", we could reduce the assaults and death by those using bath salts.
