I feel sorry for all the fair weather fans of the NFL. Football is meant to be played outside, not inside . Didn't your mothers teach you better than to throw the ball in the house? I think domes should be used for concerts and the Great Outdoors for Football.

Yes - For one, Soldier Field is packed year round no matter what the weather is, so it is a non-issue. If you can't stand the cold, stay home and mind your business. I assure you Soldier Field will sell out no matter what.

And to those who are talking about crime rates... Clearly you do not live hear and don't know what you are talking about. The areas with the worst crime are nowhere near the city and wouldn't even be an issue. How dumb...

Lastly, Dill, thank you. There is no way in hell I'd want you in my city with an attitude like that. Chicago is one of the cleanest cities in the country and has an awesome sport following. Anyone traveling to the Chi for a sporting event would be nothing but excited.

If you don't want to come here, we don't want you here. For those who do, we'll welcome you with open arms, bars, restaurants, shops, etc. Chicago is a gorgeous city and I've enjoyed living here for the last four years.

Who the heck would want to go to nasty ol Chicago. Place is a dump. Been there once and will never go back.

Dave, over 40 mil people visit Chicago every and none of them are victims. People don't come to Chicago to visit Austin and Englewwood on the west and southside and the Superbowl wouldn't be hosted in those neighborhoods. Your ignorance is showing!

Jack, like I said, over 40 mil people visit Chicago every year making it one of the most attractive tourist destinations is the country so one redneck not paying us a visit is no big deal. Stay in bumbblefuckville, where you live!

As for the original question, I say no because chances are the weather here will be beyond freezing during that time of year and Soldier Field doesn't have a roof. I personally wouldn't want to be out there in the freezing cold watching the Superbowl.

I am torn by either choice yes/no. Yes, because this is an awesome city. Every large city has its problems with violent crime, so that will not factor in why it will not get here.

I say no because the weather here when the Super Bowl is traditionally played, the weather horrendous. If for some miracle we get the Bowl, then it will be dubbed Snowmageddon Bowl.

  • What a Stupid idea.

As long as obama's pawn is the mayor I wouldn't go to Chicago if they were passing out $100 bills!
Said that about Nagin in New Orleans and haven't missed it one bit!

NO!!! The murder rate in Chicago Land would skyrocket. Why bring in extra potential victims?

Are you crazy? The weather here is terrible at that time of year. You have a 90% chance of either a snow storm, blizzard, freezing rain or the wind blowing at 40mph every day of the winter! Who in their right mind would want to sit out there for 4 hours and freeze their privates off? Emanuel needs a reality check or a time out in the corner!!
