A goose/duck will naturally gorge themselves, they have no gag reflux, and the farmers do not have to run them down when it's time to be fed they come running to the feeding tube. Why don't you ban beef as many farms have them packed so tight they can walk and are knee deep in s*** or what about chicken as many farms keep them in cages to the point that Thier feet grow into the cage wire. Stupid Vegans lets just ban Soy so they can all die of malnutrition then we can have our food back!!!

Yes its cruelty, yes its a delicacy... But most of all its a diseased liver and goose. The goose does end up having "fatty liver disease" immunity is compromised, and it catches many various bacterial infections, down its throat and around about where it has been bitten by insects...
I believe animals where put on this earth for human use, but I would gag to eat any diseased animal part. Fresh, clean healthy meat and veg for me please!

California as usual has gone too far. It's time to boycott California made products in retaliation!

Like it or not, Matt Smith, we are top of the food chain. Although I do eat sustainable foods as much as possible, it is a matter of PERSONAL choice. If someone wants to eat foie gras, have at it. It was a goose, not starving children or neglected wounded vets. THOSE situations are horrible representation of humanity.

If you don't want to eat it, then don't eat it. But don't force me to abide by your opinion. What's next?
I love foie gras and will continue to indulge from time to time, even if it's only available on the black
market.

This poll is a horrific representation of humanity! Foie Gras is the ultimate measure of animal cruelty: force-feeding an inferior creature in a systematic way with no respect for the life and welfare of the animal or that of the consumant.
