    The poll doesn't really have an answer for me. I sometimes use the Google Plus button, sometimes use the share by email button (as I know some people who don't use social networks). I want to stress I use the share by email, not just the generic share button that gives me a zillion options.

    Since I allways(!) logout after using FB, TW, G+ or WTF, those buttons don't make any sense to me. When I want to share something I do that after I sent a link to myself (Thank you Firefox for that feature). This way I build a little archive of "the things I found".

    The poll is not very well composed, the "every single day" in the first answer is a bit too much. For example, I use the buttons, but can't say if it's "every single day".On the other hand, I find the usual floating share box full of buttons over the top.

    @fluent, why is that ironic?

  • Fluent - 11 months ago

    Err, irony that there are share buttons on this very poll? Also 404 error when voting. Fail.

    I generally just use the +1 button from the Chrome extension - if I want to tweet something I'll do it myself without any buttons the site supplies. Their presence doesn't bother me though so long as they're placed relatively discreetly - the fat ribbon of share buttons down the side of the screen always annoys me.

    I block all of these tracking things. If I want to share things, I don´t need their buttons.

    Same as above. I only ever use share to Facebook and only on YouTube.

    It's funny, I'm reading thinktraffic.net's post about this very thing right now. I personally don't use like buttons or share buttons unless I'm on Facebook. The only time I do use a like button is on YouTube. Otherwise I just forget that they are there.
