JOBS. When we shut people out of the mainstream economy, underground economies flourish. Underground economies subsist amid guns and violence. Contrary to popular belief, dealing drugs it is not the "easy way out”; it's an extremely dangerous and scary lifestyle. At the street level, it does not pay as well as many believe that it does. We have known for some time that gang membership and criminal activity decline with employment. This is not rocket science. Fear plays better in soundbites for politicians than job creation.

There are far too many entitlements, which means many people do not have to work, which leaves a lot more time with nothing to do except get into trouble.
