Both places are unique, special and very different. I spend an equal amount of time in both, though I live in neither. Ie. I would send my kids to the Beach but not to Leslieville. I love shopping in Leslieville, but not so much in the Beaches. Coffee is the same in both. Love the community center in Leslieville, but won't use the one in the Beach. I like the laid back casual attitude of Lelieville. Beaches folks are generally not so laid back (too much of Jones's)
That being said, I'll stick to downtown Toronto!

This is not close. People who live in Leslieville live there because they don't have the funds to live in the beach. Leslieville will win because people in the beach know it is the best and don't have to prove it.

Leslieville hands down the better neighbourhood! The people make the hood and I love our people!

The Beach is nice enough but it tends to be inhabited by twee people and other trendoids whereas Leslieville has real people and an interesting diversity.

Leslieville is a great hood. A neighbourhood with a lively. yet understated history. it is now becoming one of Toronto's most vibrant and interesting places to live.
