I think the sneakers are indicative of how we, as a people, view sneakers. Meaning to most of us our sneakers make or break our outfits. Plus we'll spend the absurd amount of money to wear the latest kicks but we cannot read, do not hold careers, our children are illiterate, and we live on public assistance...but our sneakers are fly. We need to prioritize and educate. Finally, the sad part is this generation is so far removed from the "black" struggle it would amaze me to think their response would be that they are racist sneakers...their response would probably be...NO. It is time to educate our children!
