If you believe that Eric then you don't know the law. 14-28 grams of pure cocaine carried a sentence of 3-15 years while 1, singular gram of crack-cocaine was mandatory 10 years. It's clear that crack-cocaine is more prevalent in low-income, urban communties (because for the most they can't afford pure cocaine) while the upper middle, high class uses cocaine (because crack is considered cheap and beneath them). Again 14-28 grams got you 3-15 while 1 gram of crack got you 10 years. BTW, if you didn't know, crack is cocaine mixed and cooked with baking soda, meaning it is much less pure, especially when a lot of it isn't even made with PURE cocaine. Now please tell me how this law, which was clearly targeting minorities and poor whites, was fair?

I feel that it is tragic to make a law lighter for trafficking or distributing Crack-cocaine and Cocaine or any other destructive substance I feel is just opening the door for more people to get involved in it. The money is good but the results are destructive on the people and families that suffer behind it, directly or indirect. I feel that the time in both cases should be longer and mandatory. Are we playing with the lives of the people we are supposed to protect. let's be for real and fight to really make life better and give the kids who may become victims a chance.
