It has nothing to do with "whether she deserves it." These people donated money to her and so it should go to her. They made a choice to give this lady money and it is rightfully hers. For the money to go elsewhere would be wrong.
It would also make people less inclined to donate to other causes, because they will wonder if the money will go the person or charity for which they donated.
I read that the man who started this said that he plans to use it for bullying prevention classes or meetings. While that may sound good on the surface, that money was not donated to him, so why is he mentioning what he will do with the money? It is her money!!!
