That is an absolute stupid decision, this money should or must be invested in health care and education in those communities in the north of the province " it is possible that the person who make decisions in the provincial wall government does not understand the real priorities?"

Corporate greed at it's finest. The money should be spent on the poor and their needs. This money could go to the people in North Central. The only reason why the Regina suburb is crime ridden is because the government doesn't give a shit about those struggling. They should start sending community programs for the poor and needy in, instead of the police. And did I forget to mention?... The roads! Oh, the bloody roads. I'm tired of the buses being like mini carnival rides. One more thing that pisses me off is Pat Fiassco's spending on a square of skateboarders, druggies and hippies. Hello? This won't solve the finance gap you stupid mayor. It seems like someone should stop smoking cannabis at city hall meetings.

I voted no because I thought the province should be giving more to the project.. It was a poorly thought out question, or possibly a question that was worded to get the answer someone wanted. A community needs many things to be vibrant and the housing concerns and other concerns are valid, but it doesnt have to be a stadium OR something else. We need this to be able to have a variety of events that a modern vibrant community does, we are already seeing events go to MooseJaw as they have a nice new facility.
Also, I was happy that the Province put the caveat on the money that the stadium has to be upgradable to a dome.

To all the negativity re the Government giving $80 million.A lot of the"against" vote I have but one thing to say when these people continue to use as their rational that a new satium is a money losing deal.My question to them is how much money do the swimming pools, libraries etc. make. It's time these people continue to think like NDPer's

It's a huge waste of money for 10-12 rider games a season. Does any stadium make money? All over North America they are constantly changing hands. Look at Skydome $568M to build, $360M of taxpayers money, 15 years later is sells for $25M! Yah that's a good investment. A new stadium in Regina would depreciate faster than that.
There are better investments to be making with taxpayers money.

I agree with Jerry's comment. If private enterprise won't invest, our govt should see that it's not an economically viable investment and back away. We'll be paying tax on this for decades.

If the province wants to be able to put money into entertainment venues, with their eye on the $$ it will bring into our local economy, then I firmly believe they need to FIRST be willing to make sure that the basic needs of the people in this province are met (housing, access to affordable food, health services, etc etc). There's a plethora of evidence showing that this economic boom is benefitting a small percentage of Saskatchewanians and putting the rest in increased financial distress - deplorable, and we can do better!!

This doesn't surprise me in the least! Cut backs in social services, the arts, education and a hiring freeze in health care should pad that 80 million nicely. Give your head a shake Brad!!

Can't understand no money for education, no money for housing but 80 million dollars to have some middle to upper income people watch football, while our poorest people live in housing that is not habitable or not eat because they have to pay rent. No priorities here, I guess poor people don't vote.

80 million won't even begin to cover the cost of a new stadium. Regina taxpayers, as well as season ticket holders, will have to cover the other 350- 400 million.... I really wish that city council would put it to a plebicite and let the taxpayers decide if they really want to carry this financial burden!!!

I say no. This is a total waste of taxpayers dollars. I'm a rider fan but can find better ways to spend our tax dollars. What is the government thinking, really is this what we voted in.

The stadium belongs in the hands of private enterprise and they won't touch it because they know its just a money pit which gives back very little in return.

Spend my money this way and I will make every effort to vote you out. What a joke, learn how to handle our money properly.

........... and yes I'm still a rider fan but I'm not stupid. I don't want my kids paying for this.

The question is not well stated. I had to say yes rather than no because I believe $80,000,000 is better than nothing, but I really believe that substantially more should have been offered by the province so that we could have had a dome that would have made the stadium more of a community entertainment facility.

Absolute stupidity!! This would have paid the film tax credit for over 10 years resulting in over a billion dollars in spin off activity instead we have companies closing or pulling up stakes. It's hard to believe Brad Wall at one time was an economic development officer!!
