We shop at the HyVee store in Indpendence, Mo. A family owned store that is really great. Everyone treats you like family and so friendly. Love to go there.

Charlotte NC is dominated by Harris Teeter. There is literally one on every corner. There are 4 within a 4 mile radius of our house. There are a few other names like Fresh Market, Trader Joe's, Earth Fare but only 1 of each I think and they are about 30 min away.

SharpShopper, they still have the best prices around here!

Mostly I shop at Meijer. I live in MI - there is a Meijer on almost every corner. Or it seems that way sometimes. I actually prefer Kroger but the nearest one is 25 miles or so away and I can't justify driving by 57 (or so it seems) Meijers to get to Kroger. Though I do go to Kroger when I have to be in that area.

We do have an IGA here but the prices are through the roof and I just can't afford it.

We have a WinCo. It is an employee owned grocery store. They don't accept credit cards, which help to keep costs down. I also like to shop at a couple of local produce stands which have nice butcher shops.

We have so many grocery stores in our town. I miss the old small independent grocery stores from my youth. Though the only one that was in our town at the time was called Sunshine Market. They closed in the early 80s and I guess I haven't seen an small independent grocery stores. Since, I use to do most of my grocery shopping at Walmart, but in the last few months I am tired of shopping at the big box store and have started shopping at Publix. Yes still a big store but at least they will help you out with your grocerys. Now if they would just come to my house and carry them in to the house. :)

In our town, we have Dillons and WalMart. Sure wish we could get another store here. We would love to have Aldi's. The above 2 need some competition.

I shop at Weis Markets. I can do pretty good there with their sales and using coupons. They double coupons up to fifty cents, so I can usually do pretty well. I do like Aldi too, but seldom get there.

I shop at Savalot, a small midwestern chain. I live in a town that's largely getting grayer and poorer. It's a town that "used to be".
They have fresh fruit and vegetables, their own brand of milk and bread, they carry some brand names, but also their own brands of soup, canned vegetables, cereals, pasta.
There are few frills, you bag your own things, no carryouts, but I save money.

I shop at a local grocery store (Dave's supermarket). My town is only 3750 but we have a marvelous grocery that has been here for more than 50 years. Dave died last year but his sons and daughter run it now and his wife is also still seen in the store. It was started when there were a number of groceries in town(9 or more). It grew and grew and now encompasses more than a city block. The deli is outstanding(best fried chicken anywhere) and many retirees do coffee breaks 2 and 3 times a day. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say that we and many in the surrounding communities Love Our Dave's!!

Foodtown (a chain) and Costco divide my grocery shopping between them, with an occasional visit to Trader Joe's. Our Foodtown is small and locally owned, going back 4 or 5 generations. The butcher does know me, and not only the bagger, but the owner will carry my bags out to the car if I need him to (and sometimes when I don't). Once when I didn't have a car and had walked down, the owner drove me home and carried my bags into the house for me!
