Should the Knicks match the Rockets' offer sheet for Jeremy Lin?

Look at this as 3 year deal - first 2 years are not really an issue. If Knicks are no better after 2 years, they will have to restart and they can consider many options to get under the cap, including jettisoning Amare and/or Carmelo. Their best shot right now, though perhaps a gamble, is to try it with Lin.

Not only can Jeremy Lin score, he can also help his teamates score. During the time Melo was away for injury last season, more of Lin's teamates had double digit score on every game due to his assists and Knicks enjoyed a winning streak without super star's participation.

As stated in Time Magazine, Jeremy Lin doesn't play much for his personal record with NBA, but he cares more about team's win. In addition, he is humble, yet with a good brand and education behind him. We don't see too many NBA players that come with the similar charactor and mentality. It is the main reason that he became a popular player.

Knicks had the chances to make him an offer at the beginning. However, Knicks chose to wait and forced Jeremy Lin to seek offers outside so that Knicks could match the contract later. Well, it did not work out as what Knicks had planned because Lin came back with a very difficult contact for anyone to match. It is a loss to all the New Yorkers.

People are overlooking him again. What did we see last season? We saw wins, we saw team play, we saw an energized Knicks team. You want to see the same thing next season ?

Why would Lin want to go to the Rockets? They have virtually no team, it's all been torn down and traded for future picks and cap space. The Rockets will be a bottom feeder for a decade.

    Um, if there's a locker room problem, i don't think it's Jeremy Lin's problem. I think it's THE OTHER GUY's problem.

I voted No, because I like Lin and I wish he gets better career by joining Rockets.
With Anthony at Knicks, there is no way Lin can get the support he needs.
I am going to follow Lin/Rockets now. That's why I don't want Knicks to match the offer.

No way Lin has played for 1 collage season(25 games) and still couldnt stay healty. What has he done ? He is a good story thats it and that all, besides he cant play defence.

No way! I'll admit that he played very well for a few weeks, and has potential down the road...but this is a MAJOR gamble.

There are other players the Knicks could spend this kind of money on, with more demonstrated success, than Lin.
