Indespensible means we are screwed without him. Vandenburg, has a backup named Jake Rudock who won the 7A national championship at St Aquinas in Florida his senior year. He traveled to EVERY away game the Hawks had in 2011. He beat out John Weinke for backup last year after Derby got in a fight with a bus window, and Weinke was moved to Punter (lol).
That says to me that if by some chance Vandenburg gets hurt we will have a very capable QB to fill in for him. I do not wish bad things for Vandenburg but I am anxious to see this kid play!
I would lean toward a position where there has been little backup experience like Center or Defensive back. Therefore I voted James Ferentz.
