this woman is one of the biggest hypcrites on the planet and I see she has thrown the blinders on a lot of weak eyes in these comments.

May the living God take Juanita Bynum from glory to glory and and protect her so she can grow in a great quantity of knowing and doing His will. She has conquered and shamed the devil by her braveness of taking the mic and telling all, some of us cannot afford to confess in front of the church but she told it all to the world.

Our sins are just as great as hers. We all fall short of his Glory. We sin, we repent, we ask for forgiveness. And we keep living. We can't throw stones. When our God wakes us up every morning he us giving all of another chance .

Salvation is personal. As individuals, our relationship with God, has no 3rd party. The wrongs and rights of preachers/pastors e.t.c does not give a platform to true christians to judge one another. Is the church for perfect people or for perfecting people? The Lord's love for us is not based on the opinion of man. We should not be moved by what we see or hear. The past is the past.

I voted yes that my opinion of Evangelist Bynum was changed by her admission of past lesbian acts and illegal drug use. But your poll didnt question whether the changed opinion (or no change in opinion) was in favor or against Ms. Bynum.

I have never watched her on television, read any of her books, or listened to any sermons given by her. But if she is strong enough to open herself up to the opinions of her so-called "Christian" friends and followers by telling her whole truth, then I believe she must have a very strong belief in our awesome God, as do I.

I would much rather have a leader who is able to admit to wrongdoing and change her life, then one who lives one life in public and another in private.

And last of all, we all have to answer to the same final judge. Doesn't the Bible say, "Judge not, lest ye be judged"? Have we all forgotten?

Her place is not in the pulpit first of all!!! She should have kept that to herself. All of that hooping and hollering was all a lie just as many people thought. Women have gotten out of control, and so many so called women preachers are WORLDLY and phony!!! Our job is to spread the word but the pulpit is for godly MEN to preach the gospel in the pulpit!!

That is what she was before excepting Jesus Christ, what she did before is the old person, that person is dead, she has been delivered and set free, no longer do strongholds have a grip on her!
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

  • Just my opinion - 12 years ago

No one is perfect, true enough. She is doing this for publicity reasons, in my estimation. She is only going to further mis-lead more women, when her next book is released. People need to definitely become more pro-active in their salvation, spirituality, etc. One should not expect any type of preacher, to get said one, wherever their desired destination is in the afterlife. Besides if a non-preacher woman did the same as Bynum did, she would be thoroughly roasted and then some. PREACHERS ALWAYS GET A FREE PASS!

  • Blessed&HighlyFavored - 12 years ago

That was her past. We all have a past. The blood of Jesus covers a multitude of sin. Stop being so religious and judgmental.

  • Forgiven2 - 12 years ago

Jesus came to seek and save SINNERS. His blood shed on Calvary justifies us before God, and that justification makes us just as if we never sinned. He takes our old sinful nature and freely declares us righteous and acceptable to God. I wish you knew the power of the blood of Jesus and God's great mercy and forgiveness! Paul of the New Testament was an accessory to murder; but because of the wonderful grace of God, he was forgiven just as if he had never sinned. He called himself chief among sinners (1 Timothy 1:15), but he was chosen to start many churches and write most of the books of the NT. God's love for us is so great that He sent His sinless son Jesus to die for our sins. No one of us could ever deserve His forgiveness, but His grace is extended to anyone who sincerely turn to Him. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 ; "For the wages of sin is death; but the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23 This is the reason Jesus had to die on the cross - the wages of sin! He was our substitute on the cross because He died for the sins of the world. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believes on Him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God". John 3:16-18 Christians are not perfect, just forgiven. As we journey here on this earth, God,who has begun a good work in us (salvation), will CONTINUE it until the coming our Lord Jesus Christ. God is not through with us Christians. Juanita Bynum was just saying what she did in the past. She told it to reveal the grace of God to anyone caught up in sin. No matter what your hang up is or was, God's grace is sufficient to deliver. She was walking in darkness, but the power and love of God has delivered her. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, "Know you not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the Kingdom of God. And such WERE some of you; BUT you are washed, but ye are sanctified, but you are JUSTIFIED in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of God." (end of quote) This is a reality when we turn to God accepting the substitutionary work of Jesus on the cross where He conquered sin, hell, death and the grave. He rose from the dead with all power in His hands, now sitting on the right hand of the Father making intercession for those who trust in His name. Didn't intend to write so much!

The admission - for lack of a better term - doesn't change my view of her because she has always come across as if she's emotionally unstable anyways. Even though I've never been a "follower" of hers, I think she is doing her best to "cope" with her very apparent inner challenges.

As for the article, I agree that the title is misleading; to say that she "confesses to afairs with women" makes it seem as if this is something she is currently doing. Don't mislead people for the mere sake of *reads*. She made a blanket statement about her past... SO very rrelevant given today's topic in Aurora, CO.

These people who are called preachers are nothing but wordmasters false idols in other words religion is fake its fantasy

  • Karl - 12 years ago

Well, I am so sorry that as a Christian I believe if you preach it you should be an example for it. Like others, Ms. Bynum has shown that "do as I say not as I do" mentality. It also explains alot when we look at some of her earlier work and how those books were a little male hating.

  • Jewrel - 12 years ago

As a Christian, telling all is not always the best thing to do. Some people are going to think that going against God is the right thing to do. Let's tell the postive and leave the negative in your closet. If you do ask what is in my closet, I will not ask what is in yours. We, Christians, must use wisdom when discussing varies issues.
God bless you my sister, and next time think before you speak. You can come to terms with your past without telling everyone. Be blessed and be a blessing. Do have a blessed day.

Look at all these religious people. While we are here people who think they are so superior to Ms. Bynum, let me throw some scriptures at you that will put you on the same boat to this mythical hell as her.
    (Leviticus 19:27) Cutting your hair
(Leviticus 21:5) Shaving those nasty legs of yours.

Here are some to show that your god doesn't love women.
(Exodus 21:7-11 NLT) If a father sells his daughter into slavery, she cannot be free.
(Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT) Man can rape a woman, but must marry his victim.
(Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB) Kill the rape victim

Remember kiddies! Don't believe everything that is shoved down your throat and actually read your beloved bible.

I don't really understand the question. It asks, "Does Juanita Bynum's admission change how you view her?" The word "admission" carries a negative connotation in society, which is part of my confusion. That word implies that there is something wrong with her being lesbian or bisexual. I do not accept that premise. She can be a child of God and a lesbian and not have anything to 'admit.' I would not be puzzled if the question was phrased this way: "Does Juanita Bynum's acknowledgment change how you view her?" It's the 21st century, folks. Not everyone has the same sexual orientation and it's about time that people stopped trying to denigrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community (LGBT) because it is different or in the minority. Whether Bynum is lesbian, bisexual, or straight, God loves her. Period!!! This heterosexist idea that there's something wrong (spiritually, physically, emotionally, or mentally) with LGBT people because they are different is just plain lame!!!

Please remeber, God said that we were born in sin and shaped in iniquity. There is not a person walking on this earth that has not sinned. When God saved us, our past sins was still there, he forgave us for our sins. I thank God that she can admit what she did in the past, each time admission is made, freedom comes. The word says the truth shall set you free. She is a true prophetess of God.

I am not surprised that she is now saying she has had lesbian affairs. She told us many years ago that she had been the church whore (remember her NO MORE SHEETS TEACHING?). Drugs and sexual deviance walk hand in hand with emotional and physical abuse, so there is no new news here.
Sometimes I think her the announcements are highly suspect - and in line with times when either her name has quieted down on the circut - or when she has a new project approaching release. If I am correct, there has got to be a better way.
My late pastor, a great and highly annointed man, used to tell us all the time that people who carry great annointings are usually very irratic in their behaviors. To me, Bynum is a prime example of his words.
Lets keep her in prayer to hear God...and to calm her spirit.

It does not change my view towards her because an evangelist [televangelist] would not be able to become an evangelist (witness of how God delivers) without going through it all. That was her testimony of how God delivered her. Other spritual leaders have gone through similar battles, and STILL battling. Evangelist Bynum has released her pride enough to admit her past in order to let others know how God delivers! We need to get this image out of our heads that Pastors have always lived a perfect "Holier than thou" life, because thats not true at all. Yes they are leaders, but they TOO are sinners.

    I voted yes, here's why:

Honestly, many televangelist leave me puzzled; are they really doing God's work or trying to fatten their own pockets & gain notoriety. Admittedly, I never watched or saw her personally because of my confusion but might actually consider it now. As a woman of God, struggling with the same past and still battling the demons, the fact that she is able to witness to others of her own struggles without trying to protect her "image" shows me she is committed to the LORD & HIS people. She is actually going to help so many, like myself, that felt that because of this I was unworthy of HIS love & that I couldn't fight the temptation & would often times just give in. She is really an inspiration to me that I can continue my walk & put my trust in the LORD that he will also deliver me from this vice.

When there is a call of God on your life the enemy will do all he can to keep you from walking in your destiny. She's anointed and that's undeniable. This does not make her super or above human struggles. She has a flesh to kill just as we all do. Pray for her that she will continue doing what God has created her to do and that she will continue to overcome whatever obstacles the enemy has set up in her path. The fact is she's God's servant and who am I to judge another man's servant. She's in God's hands just like all the rest of us.
