Reasons why Damon won??? Huh?? Cause VD is on FREE (network TV) and TB is not. Also TB sucks now & VD has tween following that votes. Not because Damon is a better vamp than Eric. Puleeeeeez!
Eric beats Damon in spades. However, can't say that for their resp. show's story lines... =)

Ian Somerhalder DOES wear contact lenses in pictures his eyes are light blue and in TVD his eyes are a dark brown
It kinda does matter what the character does on screen, because what they do shows how bad they actually are
Eric has killed many more people in his 1000 year life. When we see his dungeon he clears it out regularly.
I have watched seasons 1-3 and have not seen anything spectacularly bad boyish

Fangtabulous: The character of Damon does not where contacts to make his eyes look black. Both the actor and the character have blue, blue eyes.
Looks are subjective. I personally don't think A Skarsgard is even close to Ian Somerhalder when it comes to looks, but saying that Ian wears contacts to make his eyes black for the show just makes you look stupid because Damon's eyes are the same color as the actor's. Just watch some of his old stuff like Lost and you will see his eye color. Are you confusing him with Edward from Twilight? He's the one who wears the contacts when in character, but I don't see what that matters anyway.
Also, if you watched the show, you would realize that Damon really is a bad boy. He's killed well over 30 character son screen. However, I don't think it matters to compare how many "bad" or "evil" things the characters have. It's all about the "bad" boy appeal, and which one appeals to you more.

Eric has : ripped a man to pieces, ripped out a man's heart, killed a werewolf by ripping out his throat and has a dungeon that he tortures/keeps people in. And that is only to name a few.
Eric is a million times more good looking (damon wears coloured lenses to make his eyes look black!)
And is ,by vampire standards, WAY more powerful than damon. Eric is 1000 and sheriff of Louisiana.
