It's no debate that both Drake and J Cole have incredible talents, but a more significant question to poll would be J Cole vs. Kendrick. Drake is on a penultimate tier. As mentioned, this isn't about who's sold more records or who has a larger fan base; this is about who is the better rapper. One skill that Drake has down is tempo transitioning. Not only can he pull it off more aesthetically than anyone currently in the game, but he has mastered the timing AND frequency of transitioning tempos in his work since So Far Gone and Thank Me Later. You can see that improvement in Headlines and UGK, to Tuscan Leather and Worst Behavior, to 0 to 100 and 6 God, and so on. The wittiness and power of his lyrics follow that same upward trend. The messages, too, are powerful. But now that all he's really rapping about is the 6 and himself from his perspective, he has ultimately limited his ability to be creative with messages. He can't really branch from this like J Cole, particularly, has shown even since The Come Up. His ability to send a wide variety of different messages, like racial inequality and oppression on social and political levels, crime and even mental health, is difficult for another rapper surmount -- and the same goes for his storytelling. 2014 Forest Hills Drive refueled Jermaine's push for the top, most definitely. Shortly after the release, his name became frequented with Kendrick and Drake as the best in the game. The rap world has majorly concurred with Kendrick as one of the best in the game since Good Kidd. I don't need to delve into his pros, but J Cole most definitely is comparable with Kendrick Lamar.

I say that Cole is way better. Not only that but I say that drake sucks, All he raps about is himself ( as said in the article, And about some soft backyard gansta shit) Or studio gangsta shit. I really feel like even though drake isn't rapping like most rappers, always pussy, Money, Weed, Codeine, And molly.. I like him when it comes to that. But overall Cole can be hard and believable, and also tell a story.. Not saying he's or Naz level but he could make some good shit with him and be amazing. Drake the fucking opposite

Why is this even a topic, there's NO competition. Drake is only surviving because of the audience today. Its pretty much bubblegum raps(poppy-ish) talking to Suzie Que's and Phillips who want to pretend they're on the "other side of the tracks." But in no shape form or fashion will he survive when hip hop was at it's greatest! When Redman, Jay-Z, DMX, Lox, Biggie, Pac, Uncle L, Foxy, Kim, Trick Daddy, NAS, ruled the world. Could Cole stand his own...YES!!! That's why he holds up the diamond sign and not Drake. Drake is where he belongs, to a label whose legacy is "Back That Azz Up!!" If anyone can say that Drake is better than Cole, then you mind as well say that Dr. Suess and Mother Goose is too, and add Lil Wayne to that list as well.

j cole's music actually has meaning, & he raps about politics, racism, & shit that goes on in the real world, all drake raps about is the 6 & meek mill, drake has a better voice, that's it.
drake is a better R&B artist, but when it comes to rapping j cole is the best in the game.
lyrically, flow wise, performance j Cole is the best .
i like both both peoples barz are deep in modern and taken back but i title drake as the head of the rap game for the males

LISTEN TO J COLES ALBUM LYRICALLY AND DRAKES ALBUM LYRICALLY. Drakes production on his album is quality, if I feel like hitting the club. I call it turn up music, because I only listen to it when I'm about to go out and get wasted. Well maybe drake is the reason I feel like getting wasted lol. Anyway, Cole is on a whole new level, I don't feel like fighting with my girlfriend when I listen to Cole. But yeah, I think I've made my point, Cole is better lyrically and drake is...well drake is drake, when trying to describe drake, my vocab is just as small as his.

Don't get my wrong i like J. Cole alot, but compare Villuminati to Nothing Was The Same, just lyrically, Drake is better and does a whole lot better
