In order to go down this road you would have to be an atheist(ie life is a once and done accident). We are composed of the same materials as the stars and universes; viewed philosophically from this point of reference if we're not acting on our physical environment, adding to the universes knowledge base, then we are with out purpose. And from another perspective, why would you want to spend eternity as a disembodied brain on a shelf, limited, isolated and pointless.

His idea sounds totally crazy but who knows. There was time when we considered the idea of flying crazy too.
