How can hobbyists produce quality software that can compete with paid ones ?

Linux if difficult to use and unintuitive for the end user.

Soon Linux is going to become paid software and then they will charge heavily

Interoperability with Office, Graphics and other softwares is an issue

I have plenty of money to splurge, I cannot be bothered with FOSS idealism
