Will you be buying the new iPhone

Pita.O: How can you patent human movements? And I would hardly call Apple the inventor of “pinch and zoom”; I have seen that idea in a couple of movies long before the touch screen was available. If you do a research, you will find that a great deal of ideas were copied from other companies by Apple; Xerox for example if you would care to look it up. Apple had countless of chances to bring its prices down and they never did. Even if they do now I think it’s too little to late especially when there are superior alternatives costing far less. How can you call a company truly innovative when they force their clients to use their product a certain way? Have you used an Android and an iPhone? If you had you would have realized that there are great differences. How can you say that costumers will not suffer when apple is trying to ban competitive, superior and cheaper products?

Sorry Dan, too quick putting up my (totally unscientific poll) but have heard from wannabe iPhone converts so I know that's definitely a category to include. And polarbreeze, several people have told me they're going to wait and see so that's another category for sure.

What about the option "I'll see how iPhone performs before I decide to (a) upgrade form my 3GS or (b) get a Galaxy S3." It's not just about price, you know.

@"That One": Please don't get so riled up. It's nothing personal.
And, No, consumers will not suffer because competition just got fair. iPhones will cost less if Apple is allowed to recoup on its investment in research and development over time (rather than struggling in a rat race full of cloners.
Consumers will not suffer when competitors are forced to invent and innovate. Consumers will get true options and choice rather than clones of the same idea.
You feel so happy to use pinch and zoom today in copycat models; and you forget that if copying was discouraged, the race would not be to flood the market with the iPhone analogs but better-than-iPhone products.
    That's how competition benefits consumers.

Er... There's no option for those getting an iPhone who haven't had one before.

After Apple showed how dirty they can play with their insignificant patents I really could not care less what they come up with or offer. I will never give as much as a penny to that Crook company anymore. Apple is dead in my book. Apple started childish patent war and in the end it’s millions of consumers that will suffer from it. I used to like Apple but now I can’t stand their guts.
