Should F1 races be shorter?

More races in the Americas will give Europe their evening races.

Shorter? No. We would then end up with sprint races where a good car that starts at the back definitely has no chance of doing reasonably well. I am. Looking forward to seeing Alonso on a charge from 10th today, lets see how well he does in 20 laps shall we?

Start times though should probably be put back, I can't think of many sports where the event mainly takes place at effectively lunchtime which in terms of scheduling and families does tend to muck up the whole day and so automatically deprives itself of audience as people either record to watch later or just don't bother to watch if the result has become available to them.

…and as an Australian who already gets little enough sleep on GP Sunday Nights (Euro races typically start 10:30pm for us, American ones are 4am ish), any later and I'll have to record races, then skip the ads for playback; not what the commercial partners want, I'm sure.
