If Michael has got a job when you leave AS then go for it, but if he hasn't got anything definite for when you go back to US then you need to hang on to your cash cos' you may need it, as well as getting an older model car. The other point is 'how much' will it cost to send you as well as him. If it isn't significant then go for it.
