Racism never went away. Racism became outlawed by laws written to protect people of color, so racism went underground, but with the passing of time, racists are becoming more emboldened as can be seen in this article and many like it. I never could understand it. It's never made sense to me. It happens on a regular basis. I can testify that racism is coming back strong and we must expose it wherever and whenever it raises it's ugly head.
