Thank God that Mitt had the courage to say what most of the "silent-majority" believe!

Entitlement programs of any kind should have a suitable time limit or lifetime amount cut-off amount. These programs were put into place to help people over difficult times and not as a lifetime benefit. Once on these programs, most could care less about even trying for a job. I'm also one of the middle people paying for all those benefits. At some point the scale is going to topple over.

Mitt is right. Many Americans fail to take responsibility for themselves. If you are a student and you do not study, failure is your fault, not the fault of the teacher or the school. If you choose commit a crime, that is your choice and not society's fault if you end ou in prison.

We need to have a greater sense of responsibility. Remember, the best way to get on your feet is to get off your butt.

This is the statement that is causing the furor....

There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.....Romney went on: "My job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

They say "the truth hurts", the question is, 'WHO'?....Romney or America?

Because this is America today....The 'Picture of Dorian Gray'.

Funny no one (in the media) is talking about who may have planned and recorded this video - that would have been the issue if it was Obama that was recorded - the media has been relentlessly raking Romney over the coals, while propping Obama up - I have never witnessed such biased reporting, I can't watch any of the major networks anymore - its not news, its like a soap opera - hopefully most Americans can see through it

I am an independent and undecided voter, and I actually think Mitt Romneys comments may help him in the polls. I am increasingly appalled at how many people ,47% of our nation, seem think that the government "owes" them a living. Since when did it become a crime to work hard, to risk starting or owning a business, and earn more, or have more, than others based on sweat, brains, and effort? Even my 13 year old son will tell you that socialism cannot sustain itself, as there will always be "some more equal than others" i.e. our government officials who seem to keep wanting to give it away so that voters will keep them in office! We have serious problems, and while I am also not a fan of gigantic over the top salaries/tax breaks for corporations and their top executives, I do not appreciate my ever increasing taxes going to support big government and those who do not believe in effort or self reliance. Of course, our current government seems to want voters to become dependent on government...Atlas Shrugged anyone? Please note- I have worked since I was 15 years old. I am not an executive; I am a normal , 55 year old middle class worker trying to instill solid values in raising my children, while not losing faith in my country.
