Do you like changing the name of the Puyallup Fair to the State Fair?

A couple of your readers/commenters immediately seized on the fact that the name has been the Western Washington Fair since time immemorial--but in the vernacular, it has been the "Puyallup Fair" for much, if not all, that time. Call it what you want, but to most of us, it will still be referred to as the Puyallup Fair.

Your survey is dumb because the creator of it does not even know what the real name of the fair is.

It has been, for more than 1oo years, the "Western Washington Fair," the "Puyallup Fair" has just been a slang term for locals.

they can rename it "Slimy Goo" and everyone will still call it the "Puyallup Fair" so why would anyone care?

I think the Fair in Monroe has the rights to "Washington State Fair". Puyallup is the "Western Washington Fair".

It doesn't matter what they call it, I'm still reminded every time I hear about it that it was the site of Japanese internment during World War II, so I'm not really interested in ever walking those grounds.

How about naming it The Washington State Puyallup Fair?

The real question is... What is happening to the WA State Fair in Monroe? It has been doing poorly like many fairs around the state? Is it closing?
