I wouldn't be without my washer/dryer. I do two or three loads a week and air dry if I can. While things that wrinkle do better in the commercial dryers, I can dry them just fine in my combo if I don't overload it. On rainy days I will use the campground dryers, but I would rather stick needles in my eyes than use the campground washers. I love washing my own clothes in my own washer. I probably wouldn't give up the space for a separate dryer. I buy only easy-care, quick drying clothes. Cost a little more- care a lot less!

RV washer/dryers are way too small, I would have to do laundry every day. Running a load takes hours & hours, especially with the 110v dryer. (Hate it when folks string their laundry all over their site, and this is prohibited in many parks) I can carry enough clothes for 2 weeks and go to a laundromat, either in the park or nearby. I also use "Wash/Dry/Fold" service whenever I can find it. In any event, we need the space for the cat litter box and it's perfect for that!

I have been fulltiming for 14 years without a washer/dryer. Most rv parks have laundry facilities and if not, go to town and find a laundromat. I can get all my laundry done in an hour and half instead of doing it every day.

Love having the washer/dryer. Most often use only the washer feature and hang the clothes outside on a stand. I work in a campground and too many people use the dryers to dry their dirty wet pet bedding or wet sleeping bags.

I pondered this question prior to buying my 30' 5th wheel. Now, going into my 2nd year full timing, I love my washer/dryer. It's true the all-in-one unit takes awhile for a load (about 2 1/2 hrs), but the convienence is well worth it. I meet folks at cg's while walking around and saying "hi" (often while my wash is going).

We just got our first rig - a custom and at first we wanted the washer and dryer, but then read a comment that doing your laundry in the campsite laundry room could help you meet other people and we liked that idea. Good thing we don't have the appliances, as we would have had to add several more feet to our 39-footer!

I hate doing laundry but if I had a washer/dryer in my rig I could throw a load in every so many days and not have to use washers and dryers that other use for unknown uses; such as dyeing cloths, washing oily clothing, etc.
Our MH had washer/dryer but previous owner removed them and also turned dishwasher into storage. I made the dishwasher operable again and would love to have a washer and dryer for convenience. We plan to boondock a lot, also, but once every 2 weeks or so we could easily find a cheap ($10) site to do wash, replenish fresh water tank, dump black and gray tanks, etc. to make $10 worth it for one night. So will be looking for replacement washer/dryer.
Two primary reasons for my NO vote: 1. Our rig is plumbed for a one-piece unit but the four-drawers in that bedroom cupboard are two valuable to lose. 2. We carry enough clothing (i.e. underwear!!) to go two-three weeks. I would rather spend a couple of hours at a laundromat doing 6-7 loads AT ONCE rather than having to do hours and hours waiting for small loads to wash and dry before adding the next load -- assuming we had hook-ups.

No and No. Hard to answer when you ask two questions that may easily have different answers.

We want individual units, front loaders, to be specific.

We use solar and boondock most of the time so wouldn't have the electric or water for a washer and dryer. And we use our slide-in truck camper most of the time instead of our 5th wheel - no room for a washer and dryer in a truck camper!
