Should all public schools give students the opportunity to recite the Pledge of Allegiance?

I am not going to say it is right or wrong. Back when I was in grade school, there was a student that during the pledge would not put their hand over their heart (they just stood with their hands at their side). Some of the classmates questioned and the teacher replied it is not in his/her belief and this was in a catholic school. We accepted the reason and never gave it another thought.

i believe that all schools should have the children say the pledge of allegiance bill or no bill. when i was going up this was just part of of our everyday thing at school. i agree we have men and women giving their lives for us and we SHOULD show them that we are here for them. i also believe they SHOULD leave the words under GOD in the allegiance. no matter what religious beliefs you have. i guess i am from the OLD school and am proud of it.

It should be mandatory! There's men and women out giving their lives for us, the least we can do for them is take the 10 seconds to recite it! I can't even believe this is being debated!

If they removed "under God", then yes. Otherwise no. Under God was added during the Cold war and was supposed to be removed afterwards and never was. They broke their promise, and are pushing Christianity on people, which is completely wrong...we were NOT founded as a Christian country, and were never meant to be.

I don't think that people should complain....if you don't like it why be in our schools?...the people who complain are the ones who want to push their religious beliefs on us...really?...the pledge is not a religious thing, it's about America and believing in America..I'm tired of people coming to our country and my son fighting for freedom only to have people who are from some other country complaining or people complaining because of their ancestory. ...this country has alot of ethnic people and we can't please everyone or every new comer, so they need to adjust to America not us to them.
