Because these guys are in the spotlight doesn't make them the best hunter. The hunt the best places also. I'm sure there are some old hunters out there that could teach us all a thing or two.

This is a bullshit list. Stan potts and most others shouldnt be on this list. he and they go on guided hunts in an unpressured sanctuary where the guide has found a buck for them to shoot. Look up chuck adams accomplishments. Most of these people are product pimps. Fuck stan potts someone unskilled that watches too much outdoor channel came up with this crap.tv hunters are on tv because they cant do it on their on.

What about Fred Bear?!!? The father of modern bow hunting... he was the real deal not a high fence hunter like so many. He could shoot every type of platform but did it mostly with a recurve bow

Who Is The Best Is Only An Opinion . I Judge Another Hunter Based On If I Can Learne Something From Them To Gain Experience. I Can Honestly Say That Larry Benoit , Adam Hayes And Even Myles Keller Have Given Me More Experience . I Went With Adam Hayes Because He is As Humble And Down To Earth As They Come . He Has A Tremendous Amount Discipline And Patience From A Hardworking Approach . He Is The Man !

I hunt in Virginia and Maine .... so ditto Boss' comments about why Larry Benoit was the best. Sons Lanny, Lane and Shane are no slouches either. But, Larry and Lanny were taught by Larry's dad - Leo - who Larry always referred to him as "The Master" when it came to deer hunting. Leo hunted deer circa 1910-1960 ... when there weren't a lot of them around - and he took his share of not just big, but huge bucks out of the mountains of northern Vermont.
The TV guys put on good shows and take some good to great bucks. But, having talked to a number of them, every one of them knows who the Benoits are - and are in awe of them. That right there says a lot about who is the best.

I would ask any HUNTER to try hunting the big woods of Maine. After you hunt this massive thick ground just once you will be amazed at how Larry Benoit could bag a 200 lbs Northern Whitetail year after year. There is a reason you don't see deer hunting shows from Maine. It's to hard to get the deer on film. Larry Benoit is the Babe Ruth of Whitetail deer hunting.

Beatty? are you voters serious! one good buck dosent make you anything other than lucky...its guys who constantly kill great bucks, who unlike lakosky, dosent have $ to buy and manage the best hunting grounds in the world....its the everyday real hunter that gets the job done though research and general knowledge....btw this list is horriable. Have to go with Hays or Adams.

Adam Hayes and Larry Benoit are the only two I even considered....I based my decision on the fact that they are both real world hunters. Some of the other hunters on that list are pretty good too, in fact they all know how to hunt. But i would like to see some of them try and hunt small private parcels...or public land in a high pressure area and see how well they fair. One man not on the list who is not a celebrity hunter is John Eberhart. If he had been on there i would of choosen him hands down. For those of you who dont know who he is google him. He is the real deal.

Have we all forgotten about the great FRED BEAR!!! Come on, sometimes the best hunter, could be evaluated like, what do you consider a trophy! I think he/she would have to be passionate, conservation minded, and have a heart felt desire for the outdoors. :)>

Adam is the total package. Works hard for what he has and he is good at what he does. He is true hunter and defiantly gets no special treatment. You would never know in first meeting Adam that he has killed the giants that he has. You have to pull the information out of him because he wants no special treatment. If you get the chance to pick Adam's brain take full advange of it because it will make you a better hunter!!
Adam hays is the man....no special treatment to get on prime ground, doesn't own any farm in the best Whitetail country where he can grow them. He finds a buck, observes him, patterns him, sets up on him, gets the wind right, moves in and kills him.....He is a true HUNTER !!
