What's important to you in a good book?

    Hi Nancy,
I took part in a summer reading contest at my library. What helped me to decide on a book was the blurb. The library provides a magazine called Book Pages where I have found some great new authors. I'll make a list of books based on the blurbs, then I'll see the book in person and glance at the opening. If the author's style looks enjoyable, I'll give the book a chance. For these books, covers didn't really matter. However, if I were browsing in a book store, a good cover is always going to grab some attention. I also prefer short chapters and quick, snappy writing.
