I don't think this mom should get 99 years. We have child molesters, murders, and others that get less time. I feel give her some time in jail, make her look at the picture of her hurt child and get her some mental help.

It's no doubt that what this woman did to her child was sadistic, painful and excessive. However, I feel a 99 year sentence is way too extreme a punishment, considering most murderers, drug dealers, pimps, rapists, child molesters and other perpetrators hardly ever receive sentences that long. This woman clearly needs mental health rehabilitation.

She should get life in prison... If I ever seen someone do anything like that to there kid I would do it to them to see if they like it bc u know the Babys have accidents here and there.... Hope the baby is with someone so much better

I don't believe that mother should have gotten 99 years. Obliviously, there is some mental sickness here. But, giving her 99 years is an overkill of justice. When we have child molestation who get 4 years and probation. I believe this mother needs psychological help. Lots of prayer for her children who don't have a mother.

I think she got wat she deserves... but at the same time we have pedophiles. Out here molesting, raping, beatn, even killing..... only to be given a sentence minimum 5 years or more..... but a women losing her mind n tormenting her, destroying wat little soul shes, gets put under the jail.... wat about everyone else justice, wat about the othr children who had much worse done to them.. n their violator gets off easy... while their left suffering from the mental pain

I think someone should superglue her hands to the wall & beat the crap out of her the same way she beat her poor child! I think 99 years isnt enough. What she did was horrific!! I hope she rots in jail. I pray for Jocelyn recovery & well being as well as the rest of her children.

This woman should be given the lethal injection,there's women out there that can't have kidz yet so badly want kidz and there's women like Escalona that are blessed with angels but have absolutely no appreciation. Really sad, my heart goes out to little Jocelyn,my prayers are with her, and for her to have survived her monster of a mother, God is definately watching over her.

she has scarred that child for life......while the previous comment says maybe 10 years would have been more appropriate because she did not take a life. But its really all about perception. She has taken her innocence. With has changed the direction of her life. So physically no but she killed that child's spirit. 99 sounds just about right! this puts her in the position where she will NEVER be able to even consider doing it again.

I think she should have got a long jail sentence like 10yrs but not life she didn't kill any one .. But her kids should have been taking away for life
