I think they are both wrong. More so the driver. He is and adult and she is a child. Now there is a lesson to be learned here for juveniles, don't think that it is okay to talk crazy to people without consequences. This is the real world and sometimes people don't think rational all the time. Not saying she deserved that, but im sure she will think before opening her mouth.....

They both were wrong in this situation. The back and forth argument between the both of them could have been avoided by him just simply stating to her get off of my bus. If she refused he could have then called the authorities. I know the bus company has a little button to push that immediately alerts the transit police. He took years of frustration and abuse out on her. She took her frustration out on him. At the point of her laying hands or whatever she did to him he did have the right to protect himself and have her arrested for assault, but he didn't. Even though she started the altercation he was made to appear as the most aggressive one and therefore he cost himself his job and his company financially responsible. If his first reaction was to hit immediately it would have been impulse, but he took his time and talked mess before hitting her so he had time to think about his actions. I hope she learns a lesson from this as well as he. There are to many people out in this world fighting against us as a people for us to be fighting among ourselves. I have seen others comments regarding this and it seems we has race of human beings find this humorous instead of a tragedy. This is why every step we take forward there are people like the two of them that causes us to take 3 steps back.

I just dont get it people put there hands on someone and there just suppose to take it. Yeah you can call the police but sometimes its just to much. You don't how much trash this driver has dealt with on that bus. He should be suspended for some days but he should be able to go back to work. In this crazy world you should have the right to defend yourself and not be fired because of it. Somone stated he was trying to kill her, if he was trying to kill her why would her have thrown her out of the bus. What are you looking at? Just because shes a woman its ok to hit this man. Full Disclosure: I'm a white male, age 56 living in Seattle, but grew up in N.Y. city.
I understand the issue started over not having the bus fare ready to pay Artis, the bus driver.
He has 22 years on the job and probably can spot a scam artist trying to get a free bus ride faster than a NY second.
Shidea started talking trash to Artis.
Artis talked trash back to Shidea.
Then Shidea escalated the situation by getting physical.
Artis escalated the issue further by getting a lot more physical.
He threw an a uppercut to her face and tossed Shidea off the bus.
Shidea came back on the bus and the altercation continued until passengers intervened.
Both people were wrong in how they handled the situation.
I find it interesting that both people don't want to file charges.
If it were a white bus driver hitting a black woman then it would probably cause an inner city riot and a national uproar.
I find it ironic how forgiving the black community can be with each other when it comes to black on black crime , but if another race commits the same offense then they want to execute them.
Now Artis has to fight to get his job back, I hope he belongs to a union.
Shidea does have a racist potty mouth, but I even so... I really like her. Nobody is perfect.
I would gladly be her friend any day !

Im a bus driver myself and passengers know that we r not suppose to get out of r seats when it comes to situations like this that we can not do anything to him.... Now yes he could have been the adult in this and let her run her mouth... And not respond...they r just words...and no he did not help the situation either with his remarks... BUT u do not get up in anybody's face threaten them regardless if its a nan women or bus driver.... Bus drivers deal with issues like this every day.... Some walk away some dont.... Now on the drivers side... I dont blame him for defending himself... He could have slapped fire from her ass instead of a ike turnner what u say anna ma ass upper cute.... It is sickening to see where we have come as a society. To see that so many people think that this is acceptable. This supposedly grown ass man was going back and forth with this chick like he was a little girl in the school yard. "I'm gonna bring my granddaughter....." Seriously??? You people are taking this moron's side? I am not saying this girl is innocent, but she absolutely did not deserve this. This idiot could have made the choice to not engage her and go back and forth talking crap, again, like a little girl in a schoolyard fight. It was HIS JOB on the line, not hers. He escalated the situation with his CHILDISH banter. He said that he didn't care that she was a female, and that is evident in the video. Not only should there be NO sympathy for him losing his job, he should also get the snot beat out of him, and I mean WELL. If he wants to act like an animal, he should be treated as such. As the law states everyone has a right to defend him or herself. First off why is she invading this bus drivers space while he is transporting other pasangers? Most buses have a boundary line that should not be crossed for the safety of the driver and the passangers while the bus is being operated. Secondly, from what it appears she directly approaches the bus driver may have either hit him or spit on him. If she did actually came in physical contact with him then he has a right to defend himself. Imagine if he was a Police officer being struck or verbally assaulted by a civilian what the outcome would've been for her...If he was fired I don't feel this was a fair punishment by his empolyer. Maybe a suspension or additional training if anything would be more appropriate. Many bus drivers are verbally , physically, and mentally abused by passangers. Yes he is a man but he is also a human being so therefore its human nature to defend yourself once the fight or flight response kicks in. In addiiton he kicked her off the bus. This young lady independently returned to the bus so clearly she did not feel she was in that much danger!!

I just have to say to all my brothers that want to support this man. You know your wrong, no matter what in this cause they are both wrong but he was at work. All he needed to do was call the police, not in engage in that back in forth the woman no matter what her age.
And as soon as he got out that seat and laid hand on her, it was all over as far as I'm concerned. This is the problem with men today, so of you don't use your heads. He had total control just by sitting in that seat letting her run her mouth on the buses camera's and calling the cops.
Half the man out there today are raised by women, how the hell can you justify or defend this guy. When he could have ended this by hitting the panic button or picking up his radio and calling it in.

I hope everyone is aware that the ratchet girl in the video who went H.A.M. and eggs and got waffled for all the right reasons, is not a teenager as reports have now surfaced that she is 25 years old, which means she knew better but proceeded to disgrace herself and disrespect a man trying to pick a fight when all she had to do is pay her fare sit down and be silent. Instead she at one time was facing charges for the incident as the driver did in fact call the authorities but he showed more mercy than she deserves. Now for the guy who wants to put race in this lets do one better. Let's switch genders. If the Driver was a female and the passenger was a man in the same scenario same results the Driver would be hailed the driver as a hero, and none of the people voting that he was wrong would exist. Some girls/women need to remember that you can't do and say anything to a man and not expect him to retaliate. She was very disrespectful and either spit or hit him. What did she expect him to do? Was he suppose to sit there and continue to let her disrespect or assault him? I don't think it really matters. Anytime you step to a man with such powerful words/hands, you should expect him to strike back. Would it have been as bad if the bus driver was female? I don't think she was so upset because he hurt her. I think she was upset because he humiliated her. That's what she did to him!!!1

The bus driver was wrong for hitting the young lady, but at the sametime the stupid young lady was wrong, too. The bus driver should have pulled the bus over for the sake of other riders and call the police, however once she put her hands on him or spit it's hard sometimes to make the right decisions, she got what she was asking for a man to whip her ass something her father never did that's if she even knows her father, I hope he gets his job back with a suspension are some kind of disaplan and the company is going to have to pay for his acktions, I hope the company sues her for putting other riders in harm way, a because she is a minor sue her parents make them responsible for her actions

I think he could have handled the situation with a little more finesse. He is going to loose his job and she will sue him and the company, he should have called the authorities to have her removed from the bus. Both people were wrong. For starters, the bus drivers a grown man. However, like most idiots who insist on having the last word he argued with the nitwit. Stop the bus, call the police and have her removed.
Secondly, the nitwit is a typical representation of today's youth. Ignorant, uneducated, and lacking respect for society and herself. Inevitably, she will do something like this again because she's that stupid. Stupid people have poor judgement.

From what I saw, she assaulted a bus driver WHILE HE WAS DRIVING. I would never advocate hitting a female but she endangered every single person on that bus and she deserved getting knocked the fuck out and having her ghetto ass thrown off that bus. The driver should have just called transit police but she got what was coming to her. As bad a it is to hit a woman, it's worse to have jeopardized the riders' lives with her bullshit.

In the longer video you can see her spit on the driver and cuss him up and down. I am not one for hitting a woman but if you spit on me and hit me,and you're a woman, then its safe to say that I would punch you out of life. She is not a victim and should not be treated as such.

I cannot see if she put her hand on him because the young man was blocking her view. It could have been that she got too close and put her hand in his face, which pissed him off. He was wrong for contiously arguing with her. I'm more than sure his company has a policy on how to handle unruly passengers... like call the cops. He's going to lose his job for (1st) getting out of his seat, (2nd) putting his hands on her, (3rd) not following protocol. He could not have felt threaten by her or he would have stopped the bus and refuse to move it until she got off of it. Alot of folks are saying that they are both wrong but whose the adult? He stooped to a childs level by arguing back with her and threating her with bodily harm, before he, himself physically harded her. When you deal with the public you have to be able to make sound judgment calls and not let your emotions speak first and reasoning second.

I selected option two, however sad fact is they are both wrong on some level. from what I know, back in the day a GIRL (she’s no woman), and most guys would never have stepped to a bus driver trying to do his job unless they were just ignorant ass! I have no idea what prompted her behavior. However, many of these youngsters today have no respect for elders or themselves. As far as I can see she got a dose of what it’s like to disrespect an elder who doesn't mind whipping that ass!
Sad point is these day you can't do stuff like this and expect to keep your job. Especially, a T driver! That brother is going to lose his very decent job over some person, who has no self-respect. I have daughters as I teach them about these type of things. I think in general men shouldn't hit women and I feel the EXACT same way about women hitting men. Truth is a hard thing to swallow. That driver did what he was supposed to do, he removed a distraction. The media won't show the threats and violence thrown at the driver, they just show the "Debo" and not the full video with the lead up. My question is why no one on the bus stepped up to protect the driver which is in essence protecting their own lives. 2 people had the forethought to video the incident but no one stepped up to stop it during escalation.

I believe the driver defended himself in this situation. I dont agree with men hitting women or women hitting men. He stayed seated until she got in his face and regardless of gender a person can only take so much. She acted like an ignorant hoodrat and got treated like one. If she had stayed seated and kept her mouth shut, there would'nt have been a situation. She got what she deserved. You cant talk to and do what you want to people and expect to not get the same treatment. Evidently it touched a nerve when the driver mentioned the scars on her face. Thats when she attacked. I believe that the bus driver should not loose his job because clearly the women passennger was incorrect in what she is doing. I firmly believe that we are allowing public workers of services to be abuse and disrespected. We all are humab beings and we all have our limits. For those that think they could do a better job I dare them to walk a week in that bus driver shoes. You will see first hand how rude people can be, how they want to take their life's frustration out on the worker, and how their parents should be punish in producing such ignorant people into society. Why should he be suspended? Why should he loose his job? Why didn't the employer protect their worker from this mishaps. Just like in Detroit where we have an officer on our buses they should do the same thing. When a passenger gets on with an attitude they should be told if they can't behave then they need to seek a different method to their destination an escorted off the bus into a police car; if they continue to be disordely and arrested for disturbing the peace. We tolerate too much nonsense because people act out and think its okay to cause physical harm or verbal abuse to public workers. Protect them, prosecute ignorant people, and gain back our humanity.

I saw the video on the news and it was censored and not very clear but the youtube version was amazingly accurate. I ride the rta bus and rails daily to and from work; as well as about town. What amazes me is the amount of abuse the drivers suffer daily. I have seen them cussed out because they asked people to turn down the music on their phones, threatened because people didnt have fares and were trying to bully them or using outdated and invalid passes. ( I have seen drivers give people breaks if their excuse wasnt chronic, and legitimate). One driver I protected when a crazy guy was threatening him while he was driving. No one on the bus moved or said anything until he protected himself and them all of sudden his assailant became a woman. She spit on him and choked him while he was driving with all their lives in his hand. Imagine 13 tons of bus not counting the weight of the passengers rolling out of control. People could have been killed or seriously injured. I could never drive an RTA bus. I would have that job for exactly 3 days maximum; and then would likely be serving a triple life sentence. You see; on a daily basis I witness the total complete disregard; and absolute disrespect of the passengers towards the drivers - what l see these drivers endure: makes me wonder often is any amount of money is worth it.... A lot of people could not make it to their jobs if it were not for public transportation. Present company not excepted. People also dont know about the multiple writeups they can get or even care. Some drivers do deserve to be written up; but for the most part the drivers are great. I have even seen them greet the next passenger to get on warmly after getting completely dogged out by the person before them . Could you do that? Would you want too? be honest. In martial arts we are taught your freedom ends where my body begins. You can say anything you want to to me and I will walk away but the minute you touch me in any way I have a right to neutralize the threat. The girl kept attacking after the driver hit her . she didnt turn into the victim until after the cameras started rolling. I watched her account on the news and all of a sudden she turned into something sweeter than rock candy from the garbage mouth girl I saw on the bus. I think she got what she deserved. Had that been a man; nothing would have been said except its about time somebody finally did something about those fools that get on the bus. Think about it....in closing people like her make a bus trip very hard to endure. You dont want to hear all that on the way to work or whereever. I think he should be applauded. Anthony Mcdonald

I actualy think that the bus driver was right to punch her in the face. I'm a female, however I wouldn't put my hands on a man unless I'm asking for a fight. Heres what people aren't seeing..Of course the man punched him, however that young lady was putting every passenger on the bus's lives in danger. Every bus does say at the top "DO NOT SPEAK OR DISTURB DRIVER WHEN BUS IS IN MOTION"...That young lady actually went up to the driver and probably hit him, so if he were to swerve out of control and cause an accident or the bus to roll over because of that young lady than everyone inlcuding that young lady and the driver would become injured. And even if he asked her to get out of the bus, well after viewing the video, so you think she looks like she would get out of the bus. Even if he would pull over and call the authorities, how is that fair to the rest of the passangers who have to get somewhere and are on a schedule. People need to take that into consideration. So my question is why did people on the bus only respond when the bus driver hit the yound lady rather than someone stopping the young lady from approaching the bus driver? What gives her the right to attack the driver and be allowed to get away with it? And any woman who seems to have balls to call a man out should obviously be ballsy enough to be treated like a man. I think they should establish laws to protect men also, because instantly this teenager became a victim the minute the driver hit her, but it seems okay for the woman to attack him. No one is considering their safety on the bus because no one steps into to do anything until the driver punched the young lady. Their safety is in that drivers hands. Now try and imagine the young lady punching the man and the bus swerves into an oncoming vehicle? Imagine you being the passanger and your trying to get to work ontime but you have to wait til teh authorities get to where the bus has stopped to try and remove the young female passenger? What would you have done? You can't say shes the victim when shes the one asking for it. You can't say shes a woman when shes acting to be treated like a man.

how is what he did self- defense if he hit her first? They were both arguing and he was calling her all kinds names anyway words is justified for punching her the way he did.. That was a male but not a man and I hope while in jail where his ___ belong a real man hit him like he hit that little girl.
I think they are both wrong. More so the driver. He is and adult and she is a child. Now there is a lesson to be learned here for juveniles, don't think that it is okay to talk crazy to people without consequences. This is the real world and sometimes people don't think rational all the time. Not saying she deserved that, but im sure she will think before opening her mouth.....
They both were wrong in this situation. The back and forth argument between the both of them could have been avoided by him just simply stating to her get off of my bus. If she refused he could have then called the authorities. I know the bus company has a little button to push that immediately alerts the transit police. He took years of frustration and abuse out on her. She took her frustration out on him. At the point of her laying hands or whatever she did to him he did have the right to protect himself and have her arrested for assault, but he didn't. Even though she started the altercation he was made to appear as the most aggressive one and therefore he cost himself his job and his company financially responsible. If his first reaction was to hit immediately it would have been impulse, but he took his time and talked mess before hitting her so he had time to think about his actions. I hope she learns a lesson from this as well as he. There are to many people out in this world fighting against us as a people for us to be fighting among ourselves. I have seen others comments regarding this and it seems we has race of human beings find this humorous instead of a tragedy. This is why every step we take forward there are people like the two of them that causes us to take 3 steps back.

I just dont get it people put there hands on someone and there just suppose to take it. Yeah you can call the police but sometimes its just to much. You don't how much trash this driver has dealt with on that bus. He should be suspended for some days but he should be able to go back to work. In this crazy world you should have the right to defend yourself and not be fired because of it. Somone stated he was trying to kill her, if he was trying to kill her why would her have thrown her out of the bus. What are you looking at? Just because shes a woman its ok to hit this man. I understand the issue started over not having the bus fare ready to pay Artis, the bus driver.
He has 22 years on the job and probably can spot a scam artist trying to get a free bus ride faster than a NY second.
Shidea started talking trash to Artis.
Artis talked trash back to Shidea.
Then Shidea escalated the situation by getting physical.
Artis escalated the issue further by getting a lot more physical.
He threw an a uppercut to her face and tossed Shidea off the bus.
Shidea came back on the bus and the altercation continued until passengers intervened.
Both people were wrong in how they handled the situation.
I find it interesting that both people don't want to file charges.
If it were a white bus driver hitting a black woman then it would probably cause an inner city riot and a national uproar.
I find it ironic how forgiving the black community can be with each other when it comes to black on black crime , but if another race commits the same offense then they want to execute them.
Now Artis has to fight to get his job back, I hope he belongs to a union.

The Bus Operator was NOT WRONG!!! 4 those of u who think he was have NO clue on the DISRESPECT some of these passenger have!! I was a Bus Operator 4 MTA n Los Angeles 4 24 yrs. 4 the most part, the passengers are cool but there are those nuts that require an ass whooping.
He was damn wrong! He could have called the authorities. That would have saved his job too. Given his size and ,from what I can see, his age he should have known better. It does not excuse her actions. But it could have definitely went another route. I bet he is sorry now!
Im a bus driver myself and passengers know that we r not suppose to get out of r seats when it comes to situations like this that we can not do anything to him.... Now yes he could have been the adult in this and let her run her mouth... And not respond...they r just words...and no he did not help the situation either with his remarks... BUT u do not get up in anybody's face threaten them regardless if its a nan women or bus driver.... Bus drivers deal with issues like this every day.... Some walk away some dont.... Now on the drivers side... I dont blame him for defending himself... He could have slapped fire from her ass instead of a ike turnner what u say anna ma ass upper cute.... He was in the wrong for the way he hit her but not for hitting her ass... It is sickening to see where we have come as a society. To see that so many people think that this is acceptable. This supposedly grown ass man was going back and forth with this chick like he was a little girl in the school yard. "I'm gonna bring my granddaughter....." Seriously??? You people are taking this moron's side? I am not saying this girl is innocent, but she absolutely did not deserve this. As the law states everyone has a right to defend him or herself. First off why is she invading this bus drivers space while he is transporting other pasangers? Most buses have a boundary line that should not be crossed for the safety of the driver and the passangers while the bus is being operated. Secondly, from what it appears she directly approaches the bus driver may have either hit him or spit on him. If she did actually came in physical contact with him then he has a right to defend himself. Imagine if he was a Police officer being struck or verbally assaulted by a civilian what the outcome would've been for her...If he was fired I don't feel this was a fair punishment by his empolyer. Maybe a suspension or additional training if anything would be more appropriate. Many bus drivers are verbally , physically, and mentally abused by passangers. I hope everyone is aware that the ratchet girl in the video who went H.A.M. and eggs and got waffled for all the right reasons, is not a teenager as reports have now surfaced that she is 25 years old, which means she knew better but proceeded to disgrace herself and disrespect a man trying to pick a fight when all she had to do is pay her fare sit down and be silent. Instead she at one time was facing charges for the incident as the driver did in fact call the authorities but he showed more mercy than she deserves. Some girls/women need to remember that you can't do and say anything to a man and not expect him to retaliate. She was very disrespectful and either spit or hit him. What did she expect him to do? Was he suppose to sit there and continue to let her disrespect or assault him? I don't think it really matters. Anytime you step to a man with such powerful words/hands, you should expect him to strike back. Would it have been as bad if the bus driver was female? The bus driver was wrong for hitting the young lady, but at the sametime the stupid young lady was wrong, too. The bus driver should have pulled the bus over for the sake of other riders and call the police, however once she put her hands on him or spit it's hard sometimes to make the right decisions, she got what she was asking for a man to whip her ass something her father never did that's if she even knows her father, I hope he gets his job back with a suspension are some kind of disaplan and the company is going to have to pay for his acktions, I hope the company sues her for putting other riders in harm way, a because she is a minor sue her parents make them responsible for her actions
Some of you may get upset with me but i'm going to turn this into a racial thing. If this were a white girl acting the same way, he would have NEVER reacted towards her with such violence. He would not have dared even put his hands on her no matter what she did. This is just another example of a black man showing disrespect and hatred of a black woman. I think he could have handled the situation with a little more finesse. He is going to loose his job and she will sue him and the company, he should have called the authorities to have her removed from the bus. From what I saw, she assaulted a bus driver WHILE HE WAS DRIVING. I would never advocate hitting a female but she endangered every single person on that bus and she deserved getting knocked the fuck out and having her ghetto ass thrown off that bus. The driver should have just called transit police but she got what was coming to her. As bad a it is to hit a woman, it's worse to have jeopardized the riders' lives with her bullshit.

In the longer video you can see her spit on the driver and cuss him up and down. I am not one for hitting a woman but if you spit on me and hit me,and you're a woman, then its safe to say that I would punch you out of life. She is not a victim and should not be treated as such.
I cannot see if she put her hand on him because the young man was blocking her view. It could have been that she got too close and put her hand in his face, which pissed him off. He was wrong for contiously arguing with her. I'm more than sure his company has a policy on how to handle unruly passengers... like call the cops. He's going to lose his job for (1st) getting out of his seat, (2nd) putting his hands on her, (3rd) not following protocol. He could not have felt threaten by her or he would have stopped the bus and refuse to move it until she got off of it. Alot of folks are saying that they are both wrong but whose the adult? He stooped to a childs level by arguing back with her and threating her with bodily harm, before he, himself physically harded her. When you deal with the public you have to be able to make sound judgment calls and not let your emotions speak first and reasoning second.

They have no respect for people in general. I agree with the bus driver, you want to act like a man then I'll treat you like one. I selected option two, however sad fact is they are both wrong on some level. from what I know, back in the day a GIRL (she’s no woman), and most guys would never have stepped to a bus driver trying to do his job unless they were just ignorant ass! I have no idea what prompted her behavior. However, many of these youngsters today have no respect for elders or themselves. As far as I can see she got a dose of what it’s like to disrespect an elder who doesn't mind whipping that ass!

It baffles me that people still think like the writer of this article!!! "anytime a woman is hit she is a victim". That is the reason so many women feel it is okay to hit a man. I have daughters as I teach them about these type of things. I think in general men shouldn't hit women and I feel the EXACT same way about women hitting men. Once you cross the line and put your hands on someone it is totally up to them how they react! Not one person on the bus tried to stop the young lady but when he turned the tables, then it was a problem. It's all ignorant but in no way is she a victim.

Truth is a hard thing to swallow. That driver did what he was supposed to do, he removed a distraction. The media won't show the threats and violence thrown at the driver, they just show the "Debo" and not the full video with the lead up. My question is why no one on the bus stepped up to protect the driver which is in essence protecting their own lives. 2 people had the forethought to video the incident but no one stepped up to stop it during escalation.
I believe the driver defended himself in this situation. I dont agree with men hitting women or women hitting men. He stayed seated until she got in his face and regardless of gender a person can only take so much. She acted like an ignorant hoodrat and got treated like one. If she had stayed seated and kept her mouth shut, there would'nt have been a situation. She got what she deserved. You cant talk to and do what you want to people and expect to not get the same treatment. Evidently it touched a nerve when the driver mentioned the scars on her face. Thats when she attacked. She can give it, but can't take it.

SHE GOT WHAT SHE WAS LOOKING FOR! EVERYONE (I AM ONE TOO) SHOULD KNOW THEIR PLACE. SHE WAS TRYING TO GET THE MAN IN TROUBLE BECAUSE AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE VIDEO SHE TOLD HIM AFTER HE BEAT HER LIKE THE MAN SHE WANTED TO BE BEATEN LIKE THAT HE WILL BE ARRESTED. SOME FEMALES ARE JUST SPITEFUL AS HELL. GOD CREATED EVERYONE EQUALLY. AS A MATTER OF FACT, I THINK IF HE WAS ARRESTED FOR HITTING HER....THE BOTH OF THEM SHOULD BE ARRESTED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND DISTURBANCE. SHE GOT WHAT SHE WAS LOOKING 4! "SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND!" THAT UPPERCUT DIDN'T SEEM LIKE ENOUGH 4 HER NEITHER BECAUSE HE THREW HER AND HER THINGS OFF THE BUS AND SHE STILL CAME BACK ON AND ATTACKED HIM AGAIN WHILE HE WENT BACK IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT!!! SHE WAS LOOKING TO GET DEEBOED (as in "Friday" the movie)!
He is very wrong for hitting her like that thats a man that his women and this young lady who was wrong as well is not the first one he has hit he should have told her to het off his but before it gor ro blows and if she wouldnt get of the cops should habe be called but hhis actions were beyond wrong
I believe that the bus driver should not loose his job because clearly the women passennger was incorrect in what she is doing. I firmly believe that we are allowing public workers of services to be abuse and disrespected. We all are humab beings and we all have our limits. For those that think they could do a better job I dare them to walk a week in that bus driver shoes. You will see first hand how rude people can be, how they want to take their life's frustration out on the worker, and how their parents should be punish in producing such ignorant people into society. Why should he be suspended? Why should he loose his job? Why didn't the employer protect their worker from this mishaps. Just like in Detroit where we have an officer on our buses they should do the same thing. When a passenger gets on with an attitude they should be told if they can't behave then they need to seek a different method to their destination an escorted off the bus into a police car; if they continue to be disordely and arrested for disturbing the peace. We tolerate too much nonsense because people act out and think its okay to cause physical harm or verbal abuse to public workers. Protect them, prosecute ignorant people, and gain back our humanity.
Some women think because the law is for them they should take advantage of men! I am a woman myself and am not angry he did what he did! She disrespected him in front of everybody while he was doing his job and she wouldn't quit> He should NOT be prosecuted for what he did to her. She got what she deserved! Point blank!
I saw the video on the news and it was censored and not very clear but the youtube version was amazingly accurate. I ride the rta bus and rails daily to and from work; as well as about town. What amazes me is the amount of abuse the drivers suffer daily. I have seen them cussed out because they asked people to turn down the music on their phones, threatened because people didnt have fares and were trying to bully them or using outdated and invalid passes. ( I have seen drivers give people breaks if their excuse wasnt chronic, and legitimate). One driver I protected when a crazy guy was threatening him while he was driving. No one on the bus moved or said anything until he protected himself and them all of sudden his assailant became a woman. She spit on him and choked him while he was driving with all their lives in his hand. Imagine 13 tons of bus not counting the weight of the passengers rolling out of control. People could have been killed or seriously injured. I could never drive an RTA bus. I would have that job for exactly 3 days maximum; and then would likely be serving a triple life sentence. You see; on a daily basis I witness the total complete disregard; and absolute disrespect of the passengers towards the drivers - what l see these drivers endure: makes me wonder often is any amount of money is worth it.... A lot of people could not make it to their jobs if it were not for public transportation. Present company not excepted. People also dont know about the multiple writeups they can get or even care. Some drivers do deserve to be written up; but for the most part the drivers are great. I have even seen them greet the next passenger to get on warmly after getting completely dogged out by the person before them . Could you do that? Would you want too? be honest. In martial arts we are taught your freedom ends where my body begins. You can say anything you want to to me and I will walk away but the minute you touch me in any way I have a right to neutralize the threat. The girl kept attacking after the driver hit her . she didnt turn into the victim until after the cameras started rolling. I watched her account on the news and all of a sudden she turned into something sweeter than rock candy from the garbage mouth girl I saw on the bus. I think she got what she deserved. Had that been a man; nothing would have been said except its about time somebody finally did something about those fools that get on the bus. Think about it....in closing people like her make a bus trip very hard to endure. You dont want to hear all that on the way to work or whereever. I think he should be applauded. Anthony Mcdonald
People need to stop saying a guy shouldn't hit a women . Women can hurt a man.that why this happens because women feel guys can't hit them. People shouldn't hurt people

I actualy think that the bus driver was right to punch her in the face. I'm a female, however I wouldn't put my hands on a man unless I'm asking for a fight. Heres what people aren't seeing..Of course the man punched him, however that young lady was putting every passenger on the bus's lives in danger. Every bus does say at the top "DO NOT SPEAK OR DISTURB DRIVER WHEN BUS IS IN MOTION"...That young lady actually went up to the driver and probably hit him, so if he were to swerve out of control and cause an accident or the bus to roll over because of that young lady than everyone inlcuding that young lady and the driver would become injured. And even if he asked her to get out of the bus, well after viewing the video, so you think she looks like she would get out of the bus. Even if he would pull over and call the authorities, how is that fair to the rest of the passangers who have to get somewhere and are on a schedule. People need to take that into consideration. So my question is why did people on the bus only respond when the bus driver hit the yound lady rather than someone stopping the young lady from approaching the bus driver? What gives her the right to attack the driver and be allowed to get away with it? And any woman who seems to have balls to call a man out should obviously be ballsy enough to be treated like a man. I think they should establish laws to protect men also, because instantly this teenager became a victim the minute the driver hit her, but it seems okay for the woman to attack him. No one is considering their safety on the bus because no one steps into to do anything until the driver punched the young lady. Their safety is in that drivers hands. Now try and imagine the young lady punching the man and the bus swerves into an oncoming vehicle? Imagine you being the passanger and your trying to get to work ontime but you have to wait til teh authorities get to where the bus has stopped to try and remove the young female passenger? What would you have done? You can't say shes the victim when shes the one asking for it. You can't say shes a woman when shes acting to be treated like a man.
