    They are more than a pest. They remove all vegetation and leave the land barren and subject to erosion. They can also carry diseases, including the plague.

    The (re) introduction of black-footed ferrets (natural predators) to prairie dog towns currently requires a minimum of 5,000 acres. Please check with Colorado Parks and Wildlife before finalizing plans! The link below may be useful:
