Cudo's to MET-Ed for saying they have all these people working around the clock to fix things...and for sure not trying to undermine the effects of this storm to our east and north....BUT...our power has been out since Monday at 9, I have driven through many townships on several highways and rural roads and have seen nothing except tree services, greatly appreciated by the way, point being I have yet to see one MET-Ed truck since Saturday before the storm.

to those saying why did met-ed lose so many more than ppl... look at the % of the county that each covers... met-ed covers over 90% of the county. so their numbers don't look that bad when you consider that. Also met-ed did do alot of trimming in the rt 61 corridor from hamburg to shoey and also along shoey rd. These are just the areas I passed and noticed. I'm sure there were others. They may just not have gotten everywhere yet.

Went out at 00:04 Tuesday AM. and back on at 3:00 PM. today. Better than the 2 & 1/2 weeks starting last October 29!
If you live within Met-Ed area you can buy your electricity from elsewhere but Met-Ed still services the lines.

Power only flickered about 5 or 6 times Monday on Bernville/Shartlesville Rd around Irish Creek RD and Manbeck RD...never stayed out longer than 20 seconds!!

Mohrsville lost power Monday evening and still don't have power Wednesday. Also have comcast, so don't have cable, internet or phones service either.

I live in Oley. At 9:49pm Monday night, we lost power from a snapped pole and lines down due a weak tree. Its Wednesday and still no power. We have never gone this long without power before. No generator! Currently residing in a fancy 4000 sq ft tent. Doing it old school! Yes it sucks but it my family has had some of the best bonding moments in two days that any mother could ask for.

lost power around 230am Tuesday. I live less than a block from Perkiomen Ave in Exeter. The other buildings in the complex have power. The Hess 30 feet away has power. The apartment building 15 feet away has power... but apparently the 36 families in the two buildings that don't have power have to wait until NEXT WEEK. There is ONE line down, all of about 10 feet long. Met Ed said they have to "clear the debris" (one broken tree, about 5 inches in diameter). Bring me the chainsaw, I'll do it. Bet they are going to ask for their money on the 4th though, if we have power or not.

    I got PP&L. Never lost electricity. Glad I don't have Met-Ed a.k.a. First Energy!

Lost power Monday around midnight, came back on Tuesday morning around 10 am I tried calling Met-Ed's outage number but kept getting a busy signal or all circuits busy message.

I live less than a block from the Blandon Fire station so we are only without power for about 3 hours. Last year in the snowstorm we were down for only 5 hours.

Power flickered off Monday eve, 11:00 pm. Power back on minimally around 10:30p Tuesday eve, could tell that we were not getting full power. At 12:10 am we lost it again for nearly another hour...still on again. Historic Centre Park area

We lost power at 7:15 Sunday night...still no power. They did however clean the trees off the road so you can get in and out, which is more than they did last year. But somebody explain to me WHY Met-Ed spends thousands of dollars on helicopters trimming along the high powerlines where no trees are near the wires, yet they still hadn't trimmed the trees off the power lines along the roads from last year's storm! Seems to me that their priorities aren't in the right place.

Lost power Monday night at 10pm. Looked at Med Ed web site and says power to be restored no later than November 7th. Come on Met Ed?? Today is still October! Anyhow why was it that Med Ed lost over 62,000 user with no Power and PPL only 4,200? Something does not seem right? Entire town of Mohnton has been without power now for over 38 hours.

We went dark at 8:30pm monday and we still are without. We are being told a week at the very least. Another Halloween/anniversary ruined, thanks PP&L.

Lost power Monday night at 11:00 and got it back on Tuesday around noon in Shoemakersville. Lost it again around 3:00 on Tuesday, but it was back on in about 15 minutes.

  • Dana - 11 years ago

Power out since Tuesday 1:30 AM. Just looked at Met-Eds website and it says restoration should be restored by November 5-8. More than one week?!?! Absolutely unacceptable!! Especially when I see power up the road and across the street. Get moving Met-ED!!!!!!

    Leesport (Bern Township)

If you are on a grid of a medical care center, nursing home or hospital, they are a priority. This is understanding. You will get your electric first, being on their grid.

  • Dick Kleinsmith - 11 years ago

100% of Brecknock Twp. is out of power according to MetEd outage reporting. For whatever reason, Brecknock is low, very low on the priority list. Comm on guys, this is the entire township.

Lost power around 2am tuesday and power restored 12:35 pm wednesday. Very happy with Met-Ed response in Exeter township.

  • Jane - 11 years ago

Small town with lots of older citizens. A lot with no family. Met Ed always does a lousy job - guess small towns with older people don't count

  • mick - 11 years ago

You should have also asked if they customer has MetEd or PPL. PPL does a much better job keeping their lines cleared.

  • jen - 11 years ago

Lost power monday at 915pm, its now wednesday 930 and we still dont have electric. Bernville/shartelsville

  • sonia - 11 years ago

Its crazy that you have to wait so long for power to be put back on..two days already and no power.

  • Melissa Stavarski - 11 years ago

We lost power for exactly 18 hours. It came back on yesterday at 5:00 PM.

  • Grandma - 11 years ago

I still do not have electric. It is really frustrating!!!!

  • Corey k - 11 years ago

My power came back 11:57 Tuesday night in kenhorst.
