My mistake, it was incandescent lighting vice candles.

The tradition of daylight savings time dates back to when candles were used in the home and DST was used to save on candles. Not sure why the US still uses it, one has to figure once the sun sets how many lights are used to make up for it. We use more energy!!...Its not rocket science, well maybe it is.....lol
