My wife and I have decided that bugging out is not an option for us. I would like to see more articles on bugging in, how to defend our home with just the two of us, when asked by friends or neighbors for food and water - do you give them something with the knowledge that they might come back. What to do when you run out of blood pressure meds. or blood thinner meds. or other type of perscription meds. My blood pressure pills cost $485.00 for one months supply. I can not afford to stock pile them at that price. I am retired on a fixed income. I live outside of New Orleans, during Katrina, Rita and Isaac the electricity went out for extended periods of time. I thought we were use to the heat but after those hurricanes it seemed to be extreemly hot. What can we do to cool off during a disaster. Battery fans work until you run out of batteries.
I hope this helps with some ideas for future articles.

Live in a house right now. Just purchased 20 acres to build our new house and barn etc.
Going off the grid mostly, Electric is available across the road and we will also bring that to the new house. We will have our own generators and Solar system for running the house.
Its taken along time but hope to get the well drilled as soon as the Spring snow is gone.
Hope the country can hold it together for a few more years.

I would like to see more on family survival topics and product reviews for family's with small kids. Things like food, shelter, water containers, things we can use in a 72 hr kit to support a family with small kids.

You do a good job of giving info. All this isn't new to me as I have been at it sense the "Cold War"
The thing I find is people don't want to prep as it cost them money. They would rather spent it on a big screen TV or some new electronic item. They just don't understand beans, bullets and band aids.
Most people don't think they need to put any money away for a rainy day. Well folk it going to rain like hell in the distance future.

    I wish you well. Garmo
