I cannot believe that I discovered such a brilliant author through YouTube. I love being able to get a glimpse into the lives and thoughts of John Green when I watch the VlogBrothers. They taught me how to embrace my nerdiness and I can't even explain how much I appreciate that. John and Hank are the type of people youth today should be idolizing.

Are you seriously making me pick between JK Rowling and John Green? T_T
Ruth - 11 years ago
DFTBA! I read almost all the books on the list and TFIOS is the one I keep re-reading and can't stop thinking about. My 19-year-old daughter gave me the book and I have recommended it to countless other "moms" who love it and all his others as well.

A vote for John Green because a author hasn't made me question my life choices like that since the likes of The Catcher in the Rye. Looking For Alaska and The Fault In Our Stars blew me away. Modern Classics in the wake of The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. DFTBA
That awesome moment when everyone in the comments voted for John Green...

First off, I never thought I'd see the day where I chose someone else over J.K. Rowling. But The Casual Vacancy was a huge let down and I have not heard anyone say one positive thing about it.
Secondly, I don't know if all the people below me are trolls are not, but I am not one of them. Having said that, I did pick John Green as well. He's the only one off the list (besides Rowling) whose book I read this year...and it was a good one!

ATTENTION AMERICA. I know that all the other categories are going to be won by one direction and Honey Boo Boo Child, but for the category that should involve intelligence (aka authors of BOOKS), please redeem those bad choices by voting John Green!!!

John deserves this. TFIOS was probably the only book (aside from the Harry Potter series) which brought actual tears to my eyes. DFTBA!
I'm really hoping John Green wins this one. His book The Fault In Our Stars is absolutely incredible. One of the most beautiful and emotional books I've read.
